JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS JUNE 2016 STATISTICS
SANTA ANA, Calif.- Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in
June 2016 as compared with June 2015. In June 2016, the Airport served
929,000 passengers, an increase of 9.4% when compared with the June 2015
passenger traffic count of 849,475.
Commercial aircraft operations increased 16.4% and commuter aircraft
operations decreased 65.6% when compared with June 2015 levels.
Total aircraft operations increased in June 2016 as compared with the same
month in 2015. In June 2016, there were 25,211 total aircraft operations (takeoffs and landings), a 19.6% increase compared to 21,085 total aircraft operations
in June 2015.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 68.3% of the total aircraft
operations during June 2016, increased 23.0% when compared with June 2015.
The top three airlines in June 2016 based on passenger count were Southwest
Airlines (415,153), American Airlines (152,315) and United Airlines (116,160).
