kick off mid-August! This program meets
once monthly from August to May.
This program is a great learning
experience for citizens new and old, new
leaders, future leaders, managers and
potential managers, small business owners
and entrepreneurs.
Even the deepest-rooted Giles Countians
learn something new at Leadership Giles!
Early literacy can take
Destination Giles to new heights!
With that vision, the Giles County School
System and Martin Methodist have applied for
and received a Read To Be Ready grant from
the state and its Dollar General Literacy
Foundation fund. Our community will for the
first time have a needs-based Summer Program for Kindergarten, First and Second
Grade students to avoid the learning gap that
often occurs in the summer months.
This collaboration is wonderful to see in our
community. A focus on early literacy is a
great first step in raising students to be civically engaged and ready for our workforce.
