Where`s Wally - Book Aid International
DRESS UP AS...
where’s wally?
or WEnda?
YOU WILL NEED
✓ White woolly hat
(a lot of discount shops
sell basic hats for £1–£2)
✓ Red fabric paint or red
acrylic paint
✓ Paintbrush
✓ Double-sided tape
✓ Red tissue paper
TO MAKE THE POMPOM HAT
1. Put your hat over the
top of a bottle. Use red
fabric or acrylic paint to
paint a red stripe right
round the bottom of
your hat. Leave to dry
somewhere warm, e.g.
near a radiator.
✓ Strong glue
✓ Brown paper
✓ Scissors
✓ Downloadable
hair template
(Wally’s fringe is
on the same
template sheet
as his glasses)
2. Print out the
downloadable hair
template for either Wally
or Wenda. Place it on the
brown paper and use it
as a guide to cut out the
‘hair’. Stick the hair to the
inside of your hat with
double-sided tape.
3. To make the pompom,
screw up a piece of red
tissue paper and glue on
top of your hat.
YOU WILL NEED
✓ White long-sleeved top
TO MAKE THE STRIPED TOP
✓ Cardboard
✓ Red fabric paint or red
acrylic paint
✓ Paintbrush
✓ Masking tape (preferably
thicker-width). If you
don’t have masking tape,
this could be done with

it on the back
1. Fit the top over a piece of cardboard so it is quite
flat. Add evenly-spaced strips of masking tape across
the top. Keep doing this until you have masking tape
stripes all the way around.
2. Now paint on the
areas that are not masked
out with the tape. Leave
to dry somewhere warm
then repeat on the back
of the top.
3. When the paint is dry,
pull off the tape carefully.
Hurrah! You have a
striped top! Follow the
instructions on the fabric
paint to ‘fix’ the colours.
YOU WILL NEED
TO MAKE THE WALKING STICK
✓ Thin card
✓ Long cardboard roll
1. Print out the walking stick template. Cut round
the two curved pieces. Place them on the card, then
draw round and cut out both pieces.
✓ Brown parcel tape
✓ Downloadable walking
stick template
✓ Brown paint and
paintbrush
✓ Pencil
✓ Scissors
2. Paint the cardboard tube and both curved pieces
of the stick brown on both sides.
3. When the paint has dried, tape the curved pieces
to the top of the tube. Add some tape to the bottom
of the tube too, and there you have it—a perfect

TO MAKE THE GLASSES
1. Print the downloadable glasses templates and cut
out the pieces for either pair. Place the pieces on the
black card, draw round and cut them out.
2. Use sticky tape to attach the arms to the frames.
