provides services to publicly traded companies active around the world in mineral exploration,
development and production. Behind every Hunter Dickinson company is a multi-disciplinary team
of mining professionals with exceptional calibre, expertise and experience. The Hunter Dickinson
team is composed of industry leaders in the fields of geoscience, engineering, the environmental
sciences, finance and investment, property acquisition, regulatory and government affairs, and

who bring valuable skills and add depth to the Hunter Dickinson group. Leading-edge technology,
management tools and information support our people.
Hunter Dickinson has successfully developed mineral properties for the benefit of shareholders,
national and multinational business partners, employees and local communities since 1985. We are
extremely proud of our achievements and our track record, but even more so of the business strategy
that has been responsible for our success over many years and market cycles. While Hunter Dickinson
has grown and evolved, our business principles and their uncompromising application to every
project we undertake have remained unchanged.
Hunter Dickinson has a clearly defined and progressive approach to mine development predicated on
a responsible mineral development philosophy. Our business practices maximize staff and consultant
expertise and their proven capabilities in every phase of the process. Our ability to perform more
efficiently and more profitably than competitive companies is predicated upon a time-proven
program.
Hunter Dickinson seeks project transactions that add significant value for shareholders. When
appropriate, Hunter Dickinson companies may elect to operate, build a consortium, merge or sell
all or part interest in the company or the mineral project. Our criteria for such transactions are
that they must meaningfully benefit shareholders while fully upholding our business principles
and commitments to local communities.

Historical Performance
Over the years, the outstanding success of the Hunter Dickinson group has enabled it to raise funds to
acquire and develop projects, even during times when the market was at a downturn. Our enviable track
record also enables us to acquire projects not available to other exploration and development groups.
Established in 1985, the predecessor to the Hunter Dickinson that we know today was formed by
Robert Hunter and Robert Dickinson. The two principals founded North American Metals, which
partnered with Chevron Canada in the development of the Golden Bear mine near Dease Lake, British
Columbia. Three years after North American Metals was forged, the company’s shareholders decided
to sell to Homestake Canada in 1988. The takeover provided shareholders with a return of 900% in less
than three years.
In the same year, Continental Gold Corp. began operations. The company found and explored the Mount
Milligan gold-copper porphyry deposit near Mackenzie, in central British Columbia and advanced the
project to the permitting stage when major mining company Placer Dome Inc. offered to buy the
company. Continental Gold shareholders accepted an offer of C$20 per share in 1990, an increase of
1,800% over two years.
The Hunter Dickinson group was instrumental in the development of the Kemess gold-copper porphyry
deposit located in northern British Columbia. Under the aegis of El Condor Resources, the Kemess
project reached the permitting stage when Royal Oak purchased the company in 1996. Sold at C$7 a
share, investors earned a substantial return – more than 1,450%.
Some companies have established management groups and become independent of the Hunter
Dickinson group.
Detour Gold Corporation is focused on advancing the development of its flagship Detour Lake Project.
The Detour Lake Project is at the feasibility stage. In July 2008, Detour Gold reported an open pit
resource containing 10.8 million ounces of gold in the measured and indicated categories (242.9 million
tonnes grading 1.38 g/t), and 2.5 million ounces of gold in the inferred category (63.9 million tonnes
grading 1.19 g/t), using a gold price of US$700 per ounce and cut-off grade of 0.5 g/t gold. Detour
Gold was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange in February 2007.
Great Basin Gold Ltd. is developing mining assets in two of the world’s richest gold environments – the
Witwatersrand Basin of South Africa and the Carlin Trend of Nevada, USA – and advancing toward
low-cost, mid-tier gold production in the near term. Trial mining and bulk sampling was initiated at its
Hollister Gold Project in Nevada in 2008. Development at the Burnstone Gold Project in South Africa
will reach the mineralized zone in early 2009 and production is expected to begin later in the year.
Great Basin Gold was listed on the Toronto and American Stock Exchanges in 2003.
As projects have advanced, separate management and support teams have been established for Taseko
Mines Limited, Farallon Mining Ltd., Rockwell Diamonds Inc. and Anooraq Resources Corporation,
resulting in fewer services being required from Hunter Dickinson. This provides Hunter Dickinson with
the flexibility to investigate and acquire new projects and build new companies that can generate
substantial value for shareholders.

Commitment to Responsible Mineral Development
Mines are a unique form of human endeavour. They produce minerals essential to modern life. They
generate more wealth on less land than any other resource activity. And they must be meticulously
planned and managed to protect the environment.
Hunter Dickinson takes seriously its responsibility to maximize project benefits for nearby communities,
while minimizing or eliminating negative consequences of development. That’s why all Hunter Dickinson
companies are guided by two simple principles:
Projects must be developed in a manner that respects local socio-economic priorities;
Projects must incorporate the highest quality of environmental management.
Consistent adherence to this social and environmental ethic has allowed Hunter Dickinson to establish
positive relationships in all of its operating communities. We actively foster close partnerships with
local governments and community leaders to ensure that our projects create the kind of local benefits
that residents both want and need.
When undertaking projects in the developing world, Hunter Dickinson seeks opportunities to improve
local infrastructure such as roads and educational systems. Training is undertaken to ensure local
residents are equipped to gain employment. And we insist on the highest standards of occupational
health and safety.
Hunter Dickinson’s environmental commitment goes far beyond compliance with government regulations
and standards. Through innovation, experience and the contributions of specialized consultants and
local experts, we structure the best environmental management plan for each specific site.
Hunter Dickinson management programs begin with rigorous baseline assessments, and include
ongoing monitoring of water quality, wildlife impacts and other key indicators. The ecological footprint
of all project components is minimized, operational impacts are consistently monitored and controlled,
and site restoration is conducted at the end of each project’s working life.

Anooraq Resources Corporation is in the business of acquiring, exploring and
developing prospective platinum group metals (PGM) properties. The Company’s two advanced
stage projects, Ga-Phasha and Boikgantsho, are located in the Bushveld Complex, a geological
region in South Africa that is internationally recognized for its PGM deposits. The focus on these
two projects continues to be the completion of advanced drilling and engineering studies.
In September 2007, Anooraq entered into a transaction framework agreement with Anglo Platinum
Limited whereby Anooraq would purchase from Anglo Platinum a 51% controlling interest in
Lebowa Platinum Mines. As part of the transaction, Anooraq will also increase its interest to 51% in
the advanced exploration stage Ga-Phasha and Boikgantsho projects as well as the earlier stage
Kwanda project. These transactions will transform Anooraq into a significant independent PGM
producer controlling the third largest PGM resource in South Africa. Definitive agreements were
completed in April 2008, subject to a number of conditions, including regulatory approvals; these
were advanced in 2008. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2009.
Anooraq also has the distinction of being a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) company.
Participation of a BEE is required for all mine development in South Africa.
Anooraq is building a South Africa-based management team to oversee the Company’s operations
and retains Hunter Dickinson only for specific functions. Anooraq trades in Canada on the TSX
Venture Exchange under the symbol ARQ, in the United States on the NYSE Amex exchange
under the symbol ANO and in South Africa on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange under the
symbol ARQ.

Continental Minerals Corporation is advancing the Xietongmen Copper-Gold Project
in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Drilling in 2005 and 2006 outlined substantial mineral
resources in the Xietongmen copper-gold deposit as well as identifying several other prospective
targets on the Xietongmen property. A second drill discovery, called Newtongmen, was made
in 2006.
In mid 2007, the positive results of a feasibility study for a 40,000 tonnes per day open pit operation
on the Xietongmen deposit were announced. The mine would have a 14 year life with an annual
average production of 116 million pounds of copper, 190,000 ounces of gold and 1.73 million ounces
of silver.
Project work in 2008 and 2009 has been focused on the Xietongmen deposit, and includes basic
engineering, finalizing the international-standard Environmental and Social Assessment (ESIA)
report and compiling a mining license application.

Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd.’s key asset is a 50% interest in the Pebble Project.
Located in southwest Alaska, Pebble is an advanced stage project with the potential to produce
one-quarter of America’s domestic copper supply for more than 50 years.
Northern Dynasty acquired the Pebble Project in 2001 and by 2004, had expanded the known
mineral resource in the Pebble deposit from 1 billion to more than 4 billion tonnes. An area of
significantly higher grade mineralization, discovered in 2005 in the eastern part of the deposit, has
been the focus of work for the past three years.
The recent estimate of the Pebble deposit includes measured and indicated resources containing 48
billion pounds of copper, 57 million ounces of gold, and 2.9 billion pounds of molybdenum (5.1 billion
tonnes grading 0.43% copper, 0.35 g/t gold and 256 ppm molybdenum); plus inferred resources
containing 24 billion pounds of copper, 37 million ounces of gold and 1.9 billion pounds of molybdenum
(4.0 billion tonnes grading 0.55% copper equivalent) at a 0.3% copper equivalent cut-off.
In July 2007, Northern Dynasty and Anglo American plc established a 50:50 partnership to
engineer, permit, construct and operate a modern, long-life mine at Pebble. Each of the Company
and Anglo effectively has equal rights in the partnership through wholly-owned affiliates. Under
the terms of the agreement, Anglo funds US$1.425 to US$1.5 billion of project costs to maintain its
50% interest.
The partnership’s immediate focus is to complete a Prefeasibility Study and prepare the Pebble
Project for permitting in 2010.
Northern Dynasty trades in Canada on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol NDM and in
the United States on the NYSE Amex exchange under the symbol NAK.
