At CSC, we take our CR responsibilities seriously at every level. We have developed a comprehensive approach to ensure we operate as a responsible business, whilst enhancing our reputation as an open, honest and flexible organization OUR CR FUNCTIONING Innovative. Democratic. Inclusive. We manage our CR activities through a committee called Binergy. Binergy is a thirty-five member team of CSC employees (one member per five hundred employees), who are democratically elected each year in a formal electoral process. Employees interested in being part of Binergy, create a manifesto, present their vision on CR to the CSC employees in India and are elected to lead the CR efforts. Binergy leads and manages the CR efforts. Other CSC employees act as volunteers and based on their interest, work on an ongoing basis on various CR projects that are led by Binergy. The overall Binergy team is headed by a country mentor with each location having a committee advisor. OUR CR IDEOLOGY Beyond Charity. Binergy provides our employees across our seven locations and across the hierarchy - a platform to give back to society. Almost 60% of CSC’s employee base in India is under thirty years of age. With this energetic team of employees, our CR ideology is not merely to give back to society by means of charity, but by means of giving our time and effort in making a better society. We all go the extra mile for the cause of CR. While this is the basis of our support for social causes, we realize that funds are extremely important to carry forward such activities. CSC has over 16,000 employees in India. CSC pledges a certain monetary value per employee per month every year which we use to carry out our CR activities. CSC additionally provides funds for any important or special initiatives that may require monetary support. The starting point for our social responsibility at CSC is personal responsibility. The knowledge that nothing less than the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and fair business conduct are acceptable at any time is at the core of true corporate responsibility. For CSC employees, this is a given. This is what gives our company strength, both at an individual and team level. And we believe that this is the strength behind our CR commitments. CSC CONTRIBUTION Apart from time, effort and charity, CSC contributes towards the cause of CR by providing our people the benefit of a six-month sabbatical for social service. An employee on social service sabbatical receives 50% of his/her gross salary during the period and all other benefits continue as applicable. This policy has been utilized by many employees over the years when they have taken a sabbatical to work with an NGO or have gone to help rehabilitate victims in disaster struck areas. All Binergy members are given exclusive eight hours per month out of their work time to manage and lead the CR efforts. Volunteers are encouraged to contribute to the CR programs. OUR CR GOALS We focus our efforts towards the following CR goals: • Community Development • Education • Healthcare • Environment In the following pages, we will provide you with a snapshot of our commitments and activities and how they are increasingly becoming core to our identity.
