Gentile Cliente,
welcome to our experience: the history of a family of artisans with a passion for elegant and exclusive furniture, and their desire to spread
it among other people.
Giancarlo, Erminio and Alfonso Bazzi founded the company back in 1972 as a small artisan workshop in the earth of Brianza, an area located some
20 kms north of Milan and famous for its longstanding tradition in craftsmanship and wood carving. After a few years spent as self-employed
carvers in the local furniture industry, they decided it was about time to start their own business. According to them this was the only way they
had to pursue their real aim: “to create” a piece of furniture, to conceive, design and realize something unique.
In other words, to turn a piece of furniture into a piece of art.
This concept has been the enduring hallmark of the company ever since and all over these years has allowed it to establish its brand as one of the
most exclusive niche producers in the furniture industry worldwide.
Bazzi Fratelli has been exhibiting its products at Salone del Mobile - the most prestigious furniture exhibition worldwide - each and every year since
1975. The company has often been asked to make reproductions of items displayed in museums or palaces all around Europe and/or to come up
with personalized proposals inspired by these same items.
As a result of this continuous attention to the “peculiar” and the “still undone”, Bazzi Fratelli now owns more than 1.200 original
full size furniture drawings and over 1.000 unique model samples and patterns, all of them always available for our
customers to choose from. Such attention and care for quality and detail is the guideline of our daily activity
as well, from the choice of the timber to the selection of the fabrics, from the first drawings made for
the client up to the installation of the furniture in his/her house. The firm takes care of every
single step in the making of every piece furniture: we choose our timber years in advance
of its eventual use to let it “rest” in our courtyard and be sure it does not develop
flaws over time.
Experienced master wood-carvers work or cooperate with us to ensure that
every detail and every carving is studied and carried out in the best feasible
way.
Paint, varnish, lacquer, wax and polish are jointly selected with our
suppliers to make sure only the best materials are used.
Thanks to such a philosophy, distinguished people around the
world have been appreciating our furniture and have
increased, over the years, the number of our customers; the
best reward to our work would be that of adding you to
such a list.

Giancarlo, Erminio e Alfonso Bazzi fondarono l’azienda nel lontano 1972;
inizialmente era un piccolo laboratorio artigianale situato nel cuore della
Brianza, una regione famosa in tutto il mondo per l’abilità e la perizia dei
propri falegnami ed intagliatori. Dopo i primi anni spesi lavorando come terzisti,
i tre fratelli decisero di cominciare a lavorare in proprio, spinti dal desiderio di
creare dal nulla qualcosa di speciale, di bello e di elegante. In altre parole, qualcosa
di unico.
L’obiettivo dei tre fratelli era quello di far sì che ogni mobile prodotto dall’azienda
fosse qualcosa di originale ed esclusivo: trasformare la produzione di mobili nella
creazione di piccole opere d’arte.
Questa idea ha costituito la linea guida per l’azienda lungo tutti questi anni e le ha permesso
di imporre il proprio marchio come uno dei più esclusivi produttori di nicchia nel settore del
mobile in tutto il mondo.
La Bazzi Fratelli espone i propri prodotti al Salone del Mobile - la più prestigiosa fiera del settore a livello
mondiale - sin dal 1975. In tutti questi anni, ci è stato spesso richiesto di fare riproduzioni di mobili esposti in
musei e palazzi di tutta Europa, e di adattare tali riproduzioni ai gusti ed alle esigenze di ciascun cliente.
Grazie a questa continua ricerca del nuovo ed a questa attenzione per il dettaglio, la Bazzi Fratelli è oggi proprietaria di più di 1.200 disegni originali e di
più di 1.000 modelli, tutti a disposizione dei nostri clienti.
La cura di ogni particolare e l’enfasi sulla qualità del prodotto costituiscono anche il principio guida della nostra attività quotidiana, dalla scelta del legname
alla selezione delle stoffe, dalla realizzazione dei primi disegni fino alla installazione del prodotto finito nella casa del cliente. L’azienda pone la massima
cura in ogni fase del processo che porta alla realizzazione di un mobile: selezioniamo personalmente il legname che utilizzeremo nella realizzazione dei
nostri mobili, e lo lasciamo “riposare” per alcuni anni nei nostri cortili, al fine di essere sicuri che con il tempo esso non presenti malformazioni.
Collaboriamo con gli artigiani più abili ed esperti per essere sicuri che ogni dettaglio sia studiato e realizzato nel miglior modo possibile. Scegliamo vernici,
lacche e cere insieme ai nostri fornitori, per essere sicuri di utilizzare solo i migliori materiali disponibili sul mercato.

COLLECTION
The Jungle Collection
has been inspired by the paintings of the late 19th century painter Henri Rousseau. The idea was to translate into a piece of furniture the art and the
inspiration of the French Post-Impressionist artist. Instead of using a painting technique, we have decided to use the wood-inlay technique we are more
familiar with. This choice would also add a bit of originality to our interpretation of the masterpieces of this famous artist.
We selected the ebony veneer as the starting point of our work: its dark colour is a perfect match for the elaborate and intricate patterns of plants and
animals which is typical of most of Rousseau’s paintings. It also carry the ideas of the exotic and of the shadows, both elements easily associated to the
jungle, the artist’s most favourite subject of inspiration.
As for the inlays, the approach we have followed in dealing with Rousseau’s masterpieces has been twofold. On one side, we decided to stick as close
as possible to the original painting; on the other, we also wanted to give ourselves a little freedom to provide an interpretation that was ours and ours
alone. Thus the table-top of the dining table (art F504) is a representation of a single painting, in this case the “Fight Between a Tiger and a Buffalo”,
a 1908 oil on canvas painting on display at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

For the cabinet (art F504) we opted for a combination of elements coming from different paintings. The central and inspiring idea was that of the jungle,
which, as mentioned before, is the recurring theme in the artists’ production. This idea has been declined using elements taken from different paintings:
the reddish plants represented in the right part of the cabinet are inspired by paintings like “Tropical Forest with Monkeys” (1910 – National Gallery of Art,
John Hay Whitney Collection) and “The Waterfall”, a 1910 oil on canvas. The green with red fruits plants in the centre left are inspired by “Jungle Sunset”,
a 1910 oil on canvas displayed at the Kunstmuseum in Basel (Switzerland).
The flowers that can be found all around the cabinet are typical of a number of paintings, such as the above mentioned “Jungle Sunset” and “The Dream”,
the largest of the jungle paintings (204,5 x 298,5 cms) on display at the Museum of Modern Art, New York (USA).
