The Tamarisk Coalition’s mission is to provide education and
technical assistance in the restoration of riparian lands
 Incorporated as a nonprofit in 2002
 Western states focus
 Support provided to land managers working in areas
impacted by tamarisk, Russian olive, etc.
 Grant and donor driven organization
Programmatic Philosophy
Through education and technical assistance TC will help:

Define the problem and underlying causes of the problem.
Develop a comprehensive management and restoration
approach.
Control tamarisk and other invasive species.
Revegitate either through active and/or passive means.
Monitor and long-term maintenance and adaptive
management.
Identify funding resources to implement all components of
restoration.
Facilitate coordination among stakeholders to enhance this
process.
