WASE
WiSTA
WASE (Wipro Academy of Software
Excellence) is a unique program launched by
Wipro in 1995. It offers BCA & B.Sc.(CS)
students a chance to pursue higher
education – M.Tech in Software Engineering
in collaboration with Birla Institute of
Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani
(Rajasthan, India).
The WiSTA (Wipro Software Technology
Academy) is a program launched by
Wipro in 2011, in partnership with the
prestigious VIT University, Vellore. The
program offers B.Sc. and B.Com(CA).
students to attain a M.Tech degree in
Information Technology from
the University.
With these programs, students gain industry exposure and real-time practical knowledge on live
projects during the weekdays, thereby developing their technical skills in the ever-evolving IT
world. Both WASE & WiSTA impart the best training for soft skills and provides project
experience along with a monthly stipend, which increases every year.

Being a girl, I was initially hesitant and
reluctant to step into a professional
organization, but my anxiety got over
after seeing that girls from my batch
as well as seniors have outnumbered
boys in the WASE program. I feel
very comfortable working in a
secure and safe environment at
Wipro. If I have to work late night,
Wipro provides transportation with
an escort to drop me home.

different technologies. My seniors

Mohit Sharma
After joining Wipro, I went through
Project Readiness Program (PRP)
module for the first three months. I
was thrilled to see my stipend cheque
at the end of the first month. I was
being paid as well as being taught and
this made me feel happy, independent
and confident. I spent my first month’s
stipend on near and dear ones. I can
now say that I am proud to be a part
of the WASE program.

I completed BCA and wanted to study
MCA later. I came across this wonderful
‘Earn While You Learn’ program of Wipro
and consulted my seniors who are a part
of this program. I got to know that after
completion of the program, students get
an opportunity to earn 5 – 6 lakhs per
annum, along with a four year work
experience and a master’s degree from
(BITS Pilani or VIT Vellore), whereas my
classmates who pursued MCA lacked
this four years’ experience as well as the
world-class training.

I lived with my parents till graduation and
hence they were uncomfortable to send
me to a new city for a new job. I am glad
that I decided to join this program,
although it’s in a city far from my
hometown. Now, I share an apartment
with a colleague who is also from a
different state. It has been a great learning
experience. By living away from family and
friends, I have learnt a lot about leading an
independent life.

What are the different technology streams
available in Wipro for freshers?
Based on business requirements, freshers who
join Wipro will be trained on any of technology
streams that are in demand at that point of time.

Is the degree obtained by Work Integrated
Learning Program valid outside Wipro?
The M.Tech degree obtained at the end of
the four year course is recognized and
acknowledged by institutions and
organizations globally.
Will Wipro Provide accommodation when
I join?
We will assist to find a suitable
accommodation, but we do not provide any
accommodation to the candidates.
Will there be any service agreement after
the completion of the course?
There will not be any service agreement
period once the course is completed.
The students who enter Band B2 are at par
with engineers after the completion of the
four year course.
Is there any difference in the training for
WASE/WiSTA students?
WASE/WiSTA are the same training
modules.
How will the test be conducted?
The test conducted will be completely online
(internet-based). All arrangements will be
carried out at the test venue for you to take
the online test. Detailed instructions for the
test will be informed to you by e-mail.
What is the structure of the Wipro
Entrance Test?
Will I get holidays during the
weekend classes?
The question paper will have three sections.
Verbal, Analytical and Mathematics.
There will not be any holidays during
weekend classes. The classes will be held on
any one of the days of the weekend.
 Verbal: This section will have questions on
the lines of CAT and GMAT entrance
examinations. It will include synonyms,
antonyms, sentence structuring, grammar,
paragraph comprehension, etc. Any guide
books available for CAT and GMAT will
assist you in the preparation of this section.
How is the career growth for
WASE/WiSTA students within
the organization?
 Analytical: As above
 Mathematics: Questions will pertain to
Trigonometry, Calculus, Differentiation,
Algebra, Integration, Matrices and
Coordinate Geometry. You will need to
revise your 11th and 12th level Mathematics
course to prepare for this section
Is there negative marking in the examination?
There is no negative marking

We have carried out optimization of centers
based on availability of students in each city. We
would request you to choose an appropriate time
and date and make arrangements to travel to "Y"
city to appear for the examination
Will my cost of travel be reimbursed for the test?
The cost of travel will be borne by
the candidate
Will I have the option to select my
work location?
 We have delivery centers located in all
major cities across India including Bangalore,
Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata
and Delhi/NCR
 You are requested to provide your three
primary joining location preferences during
the recruitment process
 Your location of joining will be mapped in
line with your preference vis-à-vis business
requirement at the time of joining. However,
business requirements will be given first
priority at any stage
After being selected at Wipro Technologies, if
I still have backlogs after last semester, will I
be eligible to join?
The students should not have any standing
arrears during the time of joining
