(Q2 of 2012-13).

Bangalore Chapter
At the National Federation of the Blind, the Wipro
Cares’ volunteers got together and made it special for
the visually blind. They organized a Chess competition,
an essay writing in Braille, a speech on Indian freedom
fighters, singing (Patriotic songs), quiz and prize
distribution. The team provided 10 Kannada audio
recorded CDs of academic interest to NFB library
and also arranged tea, snacks and lunch for all the
participants. The team also felicitated 3 students who
had scored the highest marks in their last board exam
with a token of appreciation.
At Jalahalli Govt. Primary School, the Wipro Cares’
volunteers have been regularly taking up classes
on computer hardware, calculator, MS Paint and
MS Word for the students.
Bangalore
Yet another Wipro Cares’ volunteers’ team visited
Nachiketa Manovikasa Kendra at the occasion of
Independence Day and celebrated the same by
organizing fancy dress, singing, dancing and yoga.
They also distributed lunch boxes and sweets to the
children.
Apart from these volunteering initiatives, the volunteers
have also been exploring the volunteering opportunities
at CRY, Aashayein Foundation and the Samarthanam
Trust.

Pune
Pune Chapter
At the occasion of Independence Day, the Wipro Cares’
team visited the Door Step School’s construction site,
Next to Allard Institute, Kasarwadi Road, Marunje.
They carried out a drawing competition, gave
Independence Day speech, sang patriotic songs, played
fun games and carried out a prize distribution program
for the winners. They also talked about the importance
of education for a girl child to parents.
A Wipro Cares’ volunteer visited the Ashram school
Karjat and gave an inspiring speech to the students on
hygiene, integrity, honesty, hard work, patience while
quoting a few examples. This interaction with the
children concluded with a prayer where the children
were also distributed biscuit packets.
NCR Chapter
NCR
The Wipro Cares’ team at GNDC organized a talk
session and interaction for the Udyan Care children,
at Greater Noida, with business managers. It was
enjoyed thoroughly by children. While at other
occasions, we had volunteers visiting the orphaned girls
of Udyan Care at Sant Nagar, on a regular basis,
teaching, playing and dancing with them. One of the
Wipro Cares’ volunteer also visited the children
at Magic Bus where he played games and entertained the
children.

Kolkata Chapter
The Wipro Cares’ team visited an Old age home called
Naba Diganta (New Direction). The team played
Antakshari with the residents. The old folks shared
some nice moments of their lives. Wipro Cares Family
gifted them some things that might bring some cheer to
their lives.
The team also visited the underprivileged children
at Towards Future at the occasion of Independence Day.
The little ones exhibited patriotism through recitation,
dance and songs. A cake was cut and a small goodie pack
was presented to all the students. Teachers too were
given the Spirit of Wipro mug.
Kochi Chapter
Kolkata
The Wipro Cares’ team at Kochi regularly visits
the Thripunithura Girls Higher Secondary School Malayalam Medium School - which is a part of Amaara
Foundation. The volunteers teach English (basic and
intermediate), life skills, presentations skills and
conduct various team activities.
At the occasion of Independence Day, more Wiproites
joined in the Wipro Cares’ team and visited
Marathenatius School at Kakkanad. They hoisted
the Indian flag, conducted a quiz program for the
children and distributed sweets.

Mumbai Chapter
The Wipro Cares’ team has been regularly making
a difference to the lives of the children at Each One
Teach One and Sneha Sadan. They teach English,
computer basic tutorials and presentation skills to
these children.
Hyderabad Chapter
The Wipro Cares’ team had a notebook covering session
for the hearing impaired children of Ashray Akruti’s
children. They also interacted with the children.
At the occasion of Independence Day, the team visited
P S Bhuvana School (Aashayein Foundation) and
celebrated Sports Day. The Indian flag was hoisted
followed by patriotic songs sung by the children
and an award ceremony for the winners of the sports’
events. The team also served breakfast for 130 children
at the Aman Vedika Rainbow ashram (Aashayein
Foundation) for girls at Warasiguda. It was followed by
fun, games and storytelling sessions for the children.
Mysore
Yet another team visited the Friends Foundation,
an orphanage where the volunteers organized various
activities and games for the children, gave stationary,
provisions, gifts and one day meal for the children.
Mysore Chapter
The Wipro Cares’ team visited the Villages Alpalli
and Shindaboganahalli Pandavapura taluk, Mandya
district, at the occasion of Independence Day. They
gifted sports equipment, pencil boxes, sweaters, school
bags, geometry boxes as gifts to the school children.

Kotdwar Chapter
The Wipro Cares’ team, at the occasion of Independence
Day, visited the children at Samaj Sewa Ewam Shiksha
Samiti and the slum children as well. The team went to
their places, spent time with them, had fun activities,
distributed gifts & stationary & most importantly had
a creative session on Hygiene, Cleanliness & Education
with them.

UAE Chapter
The Wipro Cares’ team distributed water/laban
(buttermilk) to the workers at construction sites,
gardeners, municipality workers and others.
Curitiba, Brazil Chapter
Brazil
The Wiproites regularly visit two organizations namely,
Casa de Amparo ao Idoso Bom Jesus – a home for the
elderly, and Lar Amor Real, a home for vulnerable
children on a regular basis. They also help these people
with food, construction material and toys.
