International Staff Training Week at Justus Liebig University Giessen
Justus Liebig University Giessen invites its partners from
International Offices around the world to JLU’s annual
International Staff Training Week. This week is organized and
hosted by JLU’s International Office and is embedded in the
ERASMUS Staff Exchange Programme.
The meetings allow participants to exchange ideas about fostering
student and staff mobility, to present their home universities,
structures and working practices, and to explore and discuss topics
of interest within the field of internationalisation.
This year’s main focus will be on the implementation of Erasmus+
International Credit Mobility at the different universities. Enough
time is allowed for individual meetings with colleagues of JLU’s
departments or other university facilities.
Date: Our Staff Training takes place Monday to Friday, July 11-15.
Application deadline: applications are welcome until April 15.

status of your application by the end of May.

Costs: Participation is free of charge. Participants bear the
costs for individual expenses, travel and accommodation – most
probably via the Erasmus Staff Exchange grant.
Please note: We aim at a maximum number of 20 participants and
can only accept one, max. two representatives of each university –
depending on demand!

Important information
1. Working language of the event is English.
2. Applicants fill in the attached application form and send it to [email protected] no later than April 24th 2016.
The applicants will receive confirmation letters by April 30th 2016.
3. The participants cover the travel, subsistence and accommodation costs. They can use
Erasmus mobility grant.
4. The most convenient airport for arrival is Henri Coanda in Bucharest, Romania. The
distance between Ruse and Bucharest is 70 km. Other points of arrival can be Sofia
(310 km) and Varna (200 km) Airports, Bulgaria.
5. The organizers can arrange taxi transport from Bucharest airport to Ruse. The price
for one direction is 40 euros per car and can go down to 10 Euro per person when a
group of 4 people is formed.
6. The organizers can reserve places at preferential prices only in Riga Hotel***

Third International Staff week
The New Agenda of the European Higher Education Institutions
13-17.06.2016
The development of new technologies, the globalization of economy and culture,
the competition on the market of educational services, the multiculturalism and
cosmopolitanism of human society as well the ever growing human necessity for mobility
outline the new agenda of the higher education institutions in Europe where
modernization and internationalization have no other alternative.
At these conditions the collaboration, the common efforts and the exchange of good
practices between universities in Europe have key influence for acquiring adequate
education, meeting the high quality standards and the requirements of the European
labour market.
In the context of the new agenda for European universities, the Third international
staff week organized by the University of Ruse, will provide a forum for exchange of views
between the partner universities in the following areas:
• Good practices for internationalization of higher education;
• Educational needs of the digital students generation;
• Challenges for Erasmus + Programme.
We expect interested participants from partner universities to take part in the week,
and we are committed to offer them interesting opportunities for exchange of experience,
friendly and relaxing atmosphere and attractive cultural program.
