ABOUT US
One of the Bakioğlu Holding companies, Gravure International began operations
under the trade name Wetzel A.Ş. as a joint venture partnership between
Bakioğlu Holding and Wetzel in 1998. Bakioğlu Holding acquired Wetzel’s
shares in 2001, and the company quickly became the leading rotogravure
cylinder manufacturer in Turkey through multiple large-scale investments .
Since then, Gravure International has maintained its manufacturing operations in
a16.440 m2 plant located in the Atatürk Industrial Park Zone at Çiğli/İzmir.
Originally incorporated to manufacture cylinders for the flexible packaging
industry, Gravure International expanded its range of products to include
cylinders used in tobacco packaging printing, banderole printing and security
labels for tobacco products and alcoholic drinks to prevent counterfeit and
assure product safety through its various investments in 2005.
In response to the exceeding demand for high quality cylinders from its
customers in Europe, Gravure International increased its capacity to 50.000
cylinders/year with the investment of a fully automated AutoCon galvanic line,
engraving and direct laser engraving production lines in 2012. With the added
capability of manufacturing steel base of the printing cylinders in its own facility,
Gravure International stays one step ahead of its competitors with regards to
delivery schedule, product quality, and overall customer satisfaction.

PRODUCTION
Steel Base Cylinder Machining Center
Steel base cylinder machining center, was established in 2007 with a capacity of 15.000 steel base
annually. This line is capable of producing both hollow and shafted cylinders, and also handles cylinder
repairs.
Incoming Cylinder Control Station And The Stocking Area has a
capacity of approx. 7.000 cylinders. By keeping customer’s cylinders in a consolidated area, we save
considerable time by recycling cylinders for new orders.
Conventional line
Our conventional line has been in service since 1998. Total capacity for this line is 28.000 cylinders
annually. The operations include; dechroming or nickel plating, depending on the type of the incoming
base. Followed by copper plating, rough and fine cutting, grinding, engraving, chrome plating and finally
finishing. Then the cylinders are ready for proof print.

Laser Line
The laser line was established in 2012. Here we produce cylinders for the tobacco industry, security printing, embossing and label jobs.
This line has the capability of both chemical etching and direct laser engraving process.
Autocon Line
This line was established in 2012 and has increased our capacity to 22.000 cylinders annually. A fully automated system (dechroming,
plating baths, control station, stocking area, smart crane) which engraves up to a speed of 12 kHz.
Print Proof Area
All engraved cylinders are inspected and proofed with customer provided inks and according to our customers’ specifications.
We can also prepare a wide range of ink formulations in our colour management lab. cylinders are delivered with a print proof.

customers of the quality and integrity of our work. Ink formulations are also provided with the proofs.

Cylinder Warehouse
We have a dedicated cylinder storage facility with a capacity to safely maintain and catalog up to 7.000 cylinders.
This ability to store, catalog, and retrieve cylinders saves both time and money for repeat orders.

ENVIRONMENT
Gravure International has established a unique Environmental Management
System and regulates operations accordingly in order to minimize the
impact of production and operations on the environment. Standing a head
of its competition for both the attention paid to compliance with national
and local laws and its respect for the environment, Gravure International’s
new treatment plant, built 2013, is monitored via a PLC-controlled SCADA
automation system, minimizing the need for human response as well as risks
for the environmental health, occupational health and accidents. In addition to
all waste water originated from production, all chemicals used in the course of
cylinders coating are disposed of at the plant.
Gravure International, with the implementation of an effective Environmental
Management System integrated into the quality management system received
the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System certificate in 2015.
