 JOB DESCRIPTION: COMPRESSED GAS CYLINDER HANDLER LOCATION: MEMPHIS, TN nexAir, LLC, a supplier of high-­‐quality industrial, specialty, medical and bulk gases, dry ice, welding equipment, welding supplies and medical equipment, is seeking a Cylinder Handler for our plant located in Memphis, Tennessee. The Cylinder Handler will be responsible for handling compressed gas cylinders within the facility and/or preparing both high and low pressure specialty gas cylinders and equipment for shipment. Specific Job Responsibilities: • Loading and unloading compressed gas cylinders and/or other products onto and off of route trucks and trailers. • Rolling cylinders and operating a forklift truck for the movement of compressed gas cylinders. • Sorting empty compressed gas cylinders by type. • Checking for compressed gas cylinder quantities, styles and product, and/or assisting with inventory. • Reviewing customer orders, pulling items from full inventory and loading items onto trucks for delivery. • Performing basic compressed gas cylinder maintenance such as painting cylinders, labeling cylinders and cleaning of work area. • Handling of cryogenic liquid cylinders. • Handling of hazardous materials (HAZMAT). • Assisting with accompanying paperwork for shipments. • Completing both routine and non-­‐routine daily and weekly assignments. • Completing all documentation and forms in compliance with nexAir’s safety and quality requirements during the fill process. Accurately and legibly ensuring products are labeled properly, with current labels and lot numbers. • Maintaining a clean and orderly workplace through proper housekeeping procedures. • Setting the tone for employees by good example through observation of the company's policies and procedures. • Reporting accidents including near misses, unsafe acts or conditions and obeying safety rules. • Wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Flame Retardant (FR) clothing is required. • Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • Must be in good physical condition and able to roll 200+ lb. cylinders and lift 50 lbs. • 1+ years manufacturing or plant experience preferred; experience operating a forklift preferred. • Able to work in indoor and outdoor conditions throughout the year. • Able to work flexible hours (within 2 to 3 hours of starting and quitting times).
