YWCA Summer Camps —
YWCA El Paso
Del Norte Region camps are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Monday through Friday through the summer. Girls
and boys ages 5 to 12 can enjoy indoor and outdoor
activities including sports, games, swimming, arts and
crafts, and language experiences. Field tips to the
zoo, museums, bowling and athletic events are also
planned. A healthy breakfast, lunch and snack offered
every day. Cost: $76 per week (10 percent discount

YMCA Day Camps — Summer day camps for
kids 5-12 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, beginning
June 9. Kids will learn about and participate in ageappropriate music, dance, arts and crafts, swimming,
field trips and organized sports. Weekly themes
include “Space Camp,” “Y World of Sports,” and
“Animal Extravaganza.” Lunch and snack provided.
Campers should bring a towel and swimsuit.

Camp Lydia Mann — The El Paso Diabetes
Association, 1440 Miracle Way, will host the 2008
children’s day camp, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 23-27.
The camp benefits children with diabetes ages 5 to 12
and offers activities like ice-skating, swimming, painting, and more. Registration: $75 (deadline is June 2).

Trinity-First summer camps — Trinity-First
United Methodist Church, Mesa at Yandell, will host
summer camps for children who have completed

The Saturday Studio for Kids continues through the

including Snow White, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, and

El Paso Youth Choir Summer Camp —
The celebrated choir will host its camp for ages 8-18,
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday July 14-18,

intensive week-long camp is conducted by three
PhDs in music, Drs. Cynthia Jay (music director),
Chris Meerdink (vocal instructor) and Esequiel Meza

Summer Nature Camp 2008 — Las
Cruces Museum of Natural History’s summer Nature
Camp for grades 1-8 is June 2-27 at the museum,
Mesilla Valley Mall. Camps run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for
grades 3-8 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for grades 1-2 with
overnight trips for older students. Campers get an

Summer Zoo Camp 2008 — Campers age 6
to 10, will learn about Mammoths, Mastodons and
Elephants at this year’s summer zoo camps. The

Fort Bliss Summer Reading Program
— Fort Bliss’s Mickelsen Community Library’s
Summer Reading Program, “Catch a Dragon by the

2008 Summer Reading Club — The El
Paso Public Library’s free Summer Reading Club for
children completing grades 5 through age 12, off
Saturday, June 6, at all public library facilities. The
theme for this year is “Texas Reading Club Jubilee:
1958-2008” celebrating 50 years of the Texas
Summer Reading Club. Youth entering the 7 grade or
are 13 years and older may participate in the Teen
Summer Reading Club. Registration forms available at
any public library, and kids can register anytime
through early July. Completed logs must be turned in
