2013 Lindale Chamber of Commerce Country Fest
Saturday, October 12, 2013, the Lindale
Area Chamber of Commerce will host the
biggest Country Fest ever. Since 1985, Lindale’s Country Fest has continued to entertain thousands of visitors and residents,
with arts and crafts, games for the kids,
great food, live entertainment, and much
more! Each and every year added variety
is given to the expanding crowds. So get
up early and stay late, because you are all
invited to Lindale for the day!
It all starts downtown Lindale with a
pancake breakfast, sponsored by the First
United Methodist Church at 7:00 a. m.
Scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. will be one
of the largest parades in East Texas. Traveling through downtown led by the Pride of
Lindale, the Lindale High School Marching Band will be entries made up of dignitaries, floats, tractors, Shrine motorcycles,
midget cars, clowns, horses, fire engines
and much more. All parade entries must
preregister with the Lindale Chamber of
Commerce. New this year, entries are encouraged to decorate floats which will be
judged and prizes awarded compliments
of Southside Bank.
Follow the parade to Eagle Spirit Drive
and Hwy 69 where you can stroll through
the arts and craft booths, gobble a turkey
leg, and take a look at the Lonestar Dodge
Car Display. Children will spend the day
at a variety of activities including: The
Lindale State Bank climbing wall, the FFA
petting zoo, Lindale Police Department’s
Kid’s ID Booth, and lots of carnival games
provided by the First United Methodist
Church.
First class entertainment is sponsored by
Miranda Lambert and Pink Pistol Texas.
Live Entertainment will kick off at 10:00
am with Iron Mountain Project, followed
by Bongo & the Point at 11:15 am. Casey
Rivers with special guest Kallee Rhodes
will take the stage at 12:30 pm. Countyfest Entertainment will conclude with the
Lindale Idol Competition. Entries for the
Lindale Idol Competition must preregister
with the Lindale Chamber office.
The Kiwanis will host a Silent Auction
from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00. Then, Kiwanis will
begin a live auction, with numerous items
being auctioned off from 11:30 p.m. to 2:00
p.m. Past auction items have included: restaurant gift cards, merchant gift cards, jewelry, autographed memorabilia, and trips.

SHRINE BULLFEST
The Lindale Shrine BullFest is a fundraiser benefiting Sharon Shrine Center, located in Tyler, Texas. Resulting
in sold out performances, BullFest has
proven to be one of the most popular
events in East Texas; having become a
tremendous success with more professional cowboys wanting to enter than
can be accepted. Last year’s bull riding
allowed 57 entries and denied more
than 50.
The overwhelming success of BullFest
is due, in part, by Stock contractor Jerald Smith of Wing Rodeo Company is
well known on the pro-rodeo circuit.
He has had stock entered and televised
in the “PBR,” movies, and the National
Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cowboys
are very much aware of Mr. Smith and
his stock’s reputation, thus bringing
the top ranking bull riders to Shrine
BullFest.
Saturday October 12th, the fun begins
with a pancake breakfast, then a parade
through downtown which continues
down Hwy 69 and ends at the grounds
of Lindale’s annual CountryFest celebration. CountryFest is full of good
food, games and rides for the kids, music entertainment throughout the day,
arts & crafts, an all day auction, and
much more.
If you didn’t catch any candy during the parade, don’t fret, we have all
the candy you can eat and then some!
Shrine BullFest along with their newest BullFest sponsor The Lindale Candy Company, will host a live remote
broadcast. The crew from KMOO 99.1
will set up at 113 Hubbard Ave {Hwy
16 W} at the newly opened store, across
from Lindale State Bank. Newly owned
and operated by Mr. & Mrs. Terry Cochran, Lindale Candy Company is the
oldest surviving business in Lindale;
opening in 1946.
To show their appreciation and support of BullFest, the Cochrans have invited World Champion Bull Rider Matt
Austin. Matt will be greeting visitors
at the Candy Store and signing autographs. So drop by and say hello, satisfy your sweet tooth, and find out how
to win free tickets to Shrine BullFest.

Miranda Lambert is expanding her
retail empire with the opening
of a second Pink Pistol store in
Lindale, Texas, where she was
born and raised.
Lambert made the announcement via Facebook,
posting “Thanks Dallas for
a great show last night! Awesome to play close to
home! Speaking of home… the Pink Pistol Texas is
coming to Lindale! I was born & raised in East TX, so it’s only fitting that we have
Pink Pistol Texas there! Grand opening is Oct. 12-13!”
“We are turning Lindale, Texas Pink!! We will be opening at noon on Saturday so get ready for a fun-filled weekend! Wine Fest, Live Music. Great door

“Wizbang” Cooper brings ‘old style’
Shrine BullFest spectators will be
treated to a true “rodeo” clown during the event in which will begin at
6pm Saturday, Oct. 12th
in the Lindale Rodeo
Arena.

“I still strive to be like
those old style clowns
that the kids and adults
both love to watch,” he
said. “I don’t consider
myself an ‘athlete’ nor
do I consider myself a
big entertainer.
“I consider myself a
rodeo clown.”
Cooper, from Lillians, Texas, is a farrier and beekeeper when he’s not doing his bit at rodeos.
As a bull rider in his
younger days, he realized his true calling
was as a clown.
“I remember watching the rodeo clowns
when I was a very
small child and telling
my dad I was going to
be one of those when I
grow up,” he said.
He has performed for
the APRA finals, the
WCR finals, the U.S.
Armed Forces rodeo finals and the Women’s
National Finals rodeo.

Casey Rivers
brings music
to BullFest
Texas is a great big state and a lot of
big blessings come out of that state.
One of those is the down home, heartfelt country voice of Casey Rivers. Born
and raised in Lindale, TX, he’s a country boy who isn’t afraid to have BIG
dreams. The great news is, his love for
GOD and family has put those dreams
in motion and his tremendous talent
for singing and song-writing has kept
them there.
Casey and his beautiful wife, Doni,
have 3 amazing children, all under the
age of five. They make their home in
Nashville , TN , where Casey became
the 1st runner up, just a few years
back, in the highly popular Nashville
based talent television show, NASHVILLE STAR.
Casey has appeared with such country legends as Kenny Rogers, Loretta
Lynn, Neal McCoy, Sara Evans, Jason
Aldean, Big and Rich, and the Gatlin
Brothers, to name a few. He has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry Stage,
toured with the Nashville Star, and the
list goes on. Needless to say, Casey has
made a name for himself in the music
world, lassoing hearts across the country and, even, across the world.
While he loves singing country music, his love for ministry is what makes
everything work together as God
planned it. With all the success he’s
experienced, the call to honor God has
never faded. In 2008 Casey joined and
toured with successful Christian music
group, Beyond The Ashes (BTA). The
group traveled nationwide to over 200
dates per year. In that time, they saw
great big, GOD-sized success, from top
10 radio singles, to a variety of awards,
and, most of all, to a real, heartfelt impact in the lives of the thousands of
fans they sang to.
The year’s with BTA were good ones,
but in mid 2012, God led Casey into a
new adventure. With the love and support of his family, Casey has returned
to his roots as a solo artist, sharing his
Texas-sized heart along with his incredible voice and musicianship, to
audiences across the world. He’s singing songs that tug at the soul. Casey’s
diversity and sincerity help him to carry a message worth hearing wherever
God leads.
In addition to his overwhelming love
for his own kids, Casey is actively involved with sharing the ministry of
Compassion, Intl wherever he travels
and sings. Compassion is a child sponsorship organization striving to release
children from poverty, around the
globe, in Jesus’ name.

CountryFest/BullFest is not the only event happening in Lindale, on Saturday
October 12th! Miranda Lambert is having the grand opening of her store “Pink
Pistol Texas.” Also, the Lindale Library is hosting “PinktoberFest Wine Tasting,”
which will continue through Sunday, October 13th.
But the fun doesn’t end down town or at the CountryFest grounds! After CountryFest, come out to Lindale’s Championship Arena on Hwy 16 W. and get ready
for the best bull riding in Texas. As the 15th annual Shrine BullFest kicks-off at
6:00 p m with the best in musicians. This year is no exception! A new sponsor to

boy, Casey Rivers to open Shrine BullFest.

manages to announce one or two shows
at the location where he got his start! He
keeps his calendar full, staying booked
about 40 to 48 weeks per year.
He is a honor graduate of both Southern Arkansas University (South Ark
Community College) and Northwestern
State University of Louisiana. Dumas
has two nursing degrees and works as
a free-lance Registered Nurse at various
medical centers in the South when not
rodeoing. He is the only individual to
both clown and announce the Southern
Pro Bull Riders Finals.
He choreographs all the rodeo music
and works with the clowns. He is excellent at keeping the audience informed
of what is happening throughout the
course of the event and leaves nothing
unattended.

Champion Bull Rider from Tennessee

announcers: you have those with good
voices, those with knowledge of the
sport and contestants and those that are
entertaining, educating and enthusiastic. Joe Dumas incorporates all of those
qualities. He is one of the best in the

Joe was raised in both Arkansas and
Louisiana and still maintains residences
in both states. He has been in the rodeo
business for over 30 years. He started his
rodeo career at the age of 13 in Arkansas
as a contestant.
He has only been announcing rodeos
since 1992. At that time he was clowning
rodeos full-time and it happened that a
friend asked him to help out at the microphone. Joe agreed and from there he
launched one of the most successful an-
kids 6 years old and under compete on sheep-back for a championship buckle. You
got to see these little wranglers ride!
You can’t have a bull riding without bull fighters! These guys dressed in bright
shirts, ragged shorts and makeup, put their self in harms way, to rescue the cowboy from the bull when he is in danger. This year’s Bull Fighter sponsor : Dr. James
L. Wasson and Women’s Total Care of East Texas returns once again to support
Shrine BullFest.
Once again Heritage Land Bank joins in sponsorship of Shrine BullFest 2013 as
a Bucking Chute sponsor along with Lindale State Bank will host the award winning Sharon Shrine Mounted Patrol. These marvelous horsemen will be performing and doing an amazing flag presentation, during the opening of Shrine BullFest.

year will be exceptional with professional rodeo clown Cody Cooper. Through
performing, rodeo crowds have taught Cooper what they expect and like. First,
and above all else, they want to be entertained so he combines comedy with all of

Gibbs expects to shine at BullFest
My name is Jason Gibbs. I started out
riding bulls but found out that as much as
I loved the sport I didn’t have the ability.
So I prayed and let the Lord lead me and
was blessed to meet Donnie Smith (awardwinning bullfighter).
Donnie took me under his wing and
worked with me, always being there to
talk with me and show me how to be
professional at a sport that is dangerous at
times. I met Jerry Joe Crawford and Jerald
Smith (renowned stock contractors) and
because of these two men, taking a chance
on me I found what I love and where I
belong.
I’ve been fighting bulls for over 10 years
and was voted CRRA bullfighter of the
year in 2007. I hold cards in numerous associations and have been blessed to fight
bulls for a living.
I give my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
full credit and glory for everything I have
done. I truly love fighting bulls and hopefully I carry myself in a way in and out of
the arena that gives God the glory.
