Triulzi).
Description
Long straight snug fit evening gown in three cuts of tulle. Round neckline, long tight sleeves. Trumpet-train in back.
Underneath, a gray satin slip.
Raw-edge rectangular tulle stole.
The gown features decorative off-center embroidery becoming all the richer on the left thanks to the application of sparkling
silver scales, then ramifying on front and cuffs in a star/asymmetric spiral/bow with flaming arrow pattern. The stole has
allover embroidery in various designs: suns moons & stars, spirals, a bow with flaming arrow.
Inscriptions: “Naomi/626” and “5026/G700” on dress.
Remarks
A mermaid skin or a storybook sun moon & star dress? This is a gown serving solely as a surface on which to create an
extraordinary celestial motif embroidery similar to the one Lesage did in the 1930s. It’s a clear reference to the heyday of
haute couture, when flights of fantasy – and creative powers – knew no bounds.
