Touching so many lives through social films has not only given a
voice to the voiceless but also created ripples of social change for
the participants – whether amateur or professional filmmakers.
Many participants start volunteering with Not-for-Profits or
harnessing the power of media to further social causes.

Making a film is not that difficult. It is about the journey. To go out, meet people with
their problems and life, seeing a world that you have never seen before; and once that
affects you, then you come back and tell a few more people about what experiences
you had and share those.
- Vikas Bahl, Film Director & Jury Member
YES! i am the CHANGE initiative is
extremely encouraging to bring
social change. Films are by far the
strongest medium to address
social change. There are three tiers
at which social change can happen
– global level, national level where
the feeling of national pride
motivates and personal level
- Meghna Gulzar
Country Director, UNDP-India
Films should always strive to ignite and open up social dialogue. YES! i am the
CHANGE is a unique initiative towards connecting the film enthusiast youngistan
to support social causes. I am very excited to be a part of this initiative.
– Guneet Monga, Film Producer & Jury Member
YES! i am the CHANGE is a great platform for youth to express their passion.
Design thinking is the need of the hour and will be at the centre stage for a
better India
- Radha Kapoor, Founder ISDI,
YES! i am the CHANGE is giving youth an opportunity to express
themselves through films. It’s very organic and spontaneous;
therefore it can go a long way in really bringing about a change.
YES! i am the CHANGE is such a great platform for anyone who
has a story to tell.
Vidya Balan, Chief Guest,
YES! i am the CHANGE 2015 Awards

YES FOUNDATION has fueled and
nurtured innovative ideas. YES! i am the
CHANGE, 101-Hour Social Filmmaking
Challenge, was conceptualized to use
media as a change agent—a medium
to engage the youth of the country in
playing an active role for India’s inclusive
development.
At YES BANK, connecting with the community is of utmost importance as we believe
that community is the strongest link to a sustainable business and business existence
depends on it. It is no mean feat, that YES! i am the CHANGE has become the World’s
Largest Social Film Movement in a short span of three years.
- Radha Singh, Non Executive Part-time Chairperson, YES BANK and Chairperson, CSR
Committee, YES BANK
S. L. Kapur, Chairperson,
YES FOUNDATION
As always, I am impressed and
humbled by the range of talent
available in India. It was tough to
pick the top ten movies!”
- Nagesh Rao, President, MICA and Jury
member, YES! i am the CHANGE 2014
and 2015
In my 35 years of experience as a development professional in over 30
countries, I am particularly excited about YES! i am the CHANGE. It is not
only an agent of social, but economic and political transformation of India
because it is focussed on addressing what in my view is the BIGGEST
challenge of our country which is the MINDSET. It is much more than a
filmmaking program. It allows individuals to decide on how best they can
make changes at their own levels.

The voices that want to bring about a
social change should not be lost. We need
solutions that are non-sermonising and
instill responsible citizenship. People with a
passion for what they do, stand out. There
are so many problems in this world that
need to be addressed and YES! i am the
CHANGE is a starting point for those
voices to be heard.
Dylan Gray, Filmmaker of India’s most
successful documentary film, Fire in the
Blood
In life it is essential to have that leap of
faith. Life is about positive accidents and I
am very happy that I took my leap of faith
and encountered many such happy
accidents. What YES! i am the CHANGE is
doing, is letting you experience and find
your own accidents in life through the
exposure it gives. There is a lot of
kindness we can spread in this world,
spreading it through social films is one
such way.

and Founder MAM Movies Society

It is very important how we choose our
story. Ultimately it’s the story that stays
with the audience. Cinema is
entertainment but it has to be
engagement as well. One has to be true
to their ‘cinema’ and their niche. YES! i
am the CHANGE can be a great platform
to express your message and make it
engaging.
Ramendra Vashisht, Writer of the
acclaimed biopic, Mary Kom
Everyone has their tipping point, their
threshold point. Series of accidents in life
lead to experiencing that tipping point for
which one must go out and find
interesting things all the time. Don’t try to
fit in, experiment and experience. You
never know, making social films can be
your tipping point.
Shalabh Sahai, Co-Founder and Director,
iVolunteer
It is wonderful what you are doing through
these social films - initiating a dialogue.
While the role of films as sensitisation
tools is important, but this should lead to
social action. Identify the bigger problem,
address it through your social films and
then do something to solve it.
