VOLUME 3, NUMBER 9: NEW ELECTION PROCESS · RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP September, 2015 ENTER THE TENNESSEE RADIO HALL OF FAME WEBSITE OFF MIC by TRHOF President Gary Beaty Just about everyone in Tennessee knows, and looks forward to hearing the words, “It's football time in Tennessee!” That's the phrase created by Hall of Famer Bobby Denton on the Vol Radio Network, and Bob Kesling continues the tradition today. We're at that time now, early September, and it's exciting. membership meetings all across the state. The next official board meeting will be in Knoxville, on October, 17th, with board members Cindy Arnold and Johnny Pirkle co-ordinating! An announcement of the location will be made in the newsletter you’ll receive October 1st. Keep Calm... Gary It's also the beginning of another exciting "time" - a period of evaluation and examination of the careers of those whose names and achievements have been submitted for induction into The Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame. Read all about it on page 2 of this issue of E-Waves! We have received more than 15 nominations for consideration in the Career category, which according to our new process, will require an online vote of all members to narrow the list to that number. Once the membership vote narrows the list to 15, the board of directors will use that list to select the six inductees. As always, the board and the Advisory Council will select the Legacy inductees and the Legendary Station of the Year in a meeting later in the year. Thanks also to all who participated for our two meetings in August. We took a great trip to Bristol to the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol, on August 8th. We enjoyed barbeque and met with broadcasters in Memphis on August 22nd. Read about both adventures on pages 3 and 4 of this issue. It was great to meet new members at both locations, and we look forward to future encounters at board and Don Aaron Mike Bohan Robert Boyer Dave Brown Tom Bryant Moody Castleman Brian Cottingham Charles A.
