The
annual
Mason
Rudolph
Tennessee
Sports
Hall
of
Fame
Golf
Tournament
is
scheduled
for
Tuesday,
October
1st
at
Vanderbilt
Legends
Club
in
Franklin,
Tennessee.
The
day
will
begin
with
a
press
conference
emceed
by
Hope
Hines
to
announce
six
of
the
eleven
2014
Inductee
class,
followed
by
lunch
with
entertainment
by
TSU
Aristocrat
of
Bands
and
a
1:00
shotgun
start.
This
is
a
fun
way
to
not
only
support
the
Tennessee
Sports
Hall
of
Fame,
but
to
see
and
play
with
some
of
your
favorite
Tennessee
Sports
heroes.

WELCOMES
NCAA
WOMEN’S
FINAL
FOUR
The
TSHF
is
excited
to
welcome
the
2014
NCAA
Women’s
Final
Four
next
April!
The
countdown
started
five
years
ago
when
Nashville
was
named
the
site
of
the
2014
NCAA
Women’s
Final
Four;
this
will
mark
the
first
time
the
Music
City
will
host
the
Division
I
national
championship.
The
Hall
of
Fame
has
plans
to
partner
with
the
Nashville
Sports
Council
by
hosting
events
tied
to
the
tournament
which
will
include
special
exhibits
and
interactive
activities
to
enhance
the
fans
experience.
Tennessee
has
hosted
the
Women’s
Final
Four
just
once
before
—
in
1990
in
Knoxville.
Before
the
Division
I
women’s
golf
championships
in
Franklin
last
year,
Middle
Tennessee
had
never
hosted
a
Final
Four
national
championship.
The
33rd
Women’s
Final
Four
will
begin
Sunday,
April
6
with
the
semifinals
and
conclude
with
the
championship
game
on
Tuesday,
April
8.
Tickets
go
on
sale
in
the
fall
and
the
general
public
will
have
a
chance
to
purchase
tickets
in
all
seating
levels.

Memorial
Scholarship
Announced
The
Tennessee
Sports
Hall
of
Fame
is
proud
to
announce
that
Jeremy
Bales
of
Lee
University
has
been
named
the
most
recent
recipient
of
the
Jeff
Byrd
Memorial
Scholarship.
Since
early
childhood,
the

Scholarship

awarded
bi‐annually
to
a
Tennessee
college
junior
or
senior

displays
character,

integrity
in
sports,
the
classroom
and
the
community.
The
scholarship
will
be
awarded
to
a
student
that
wishes
to
follow
in
Jeff
Byrd’s
footsteps
with
an
interest
in
sports
journalism
and/or
sports
management.
Jeff
was
not
only
a
successful
businessman,
but
a
great
husband,
father
and
community
leader.
He
loved
to
give
back
to
the
people
of
his
adopted
home
of
East
Tennessee.
Through
the
love
and
support
of
his
East
Tennessee
friends
and
others
throughout
the
state,
this
scholarship
was
established
as
a
lasting
tribute
for
his
many
contributions.
Austin
Whitten
visits
the
Tennessee
Titans
practice
facility
Austin
Whitten
in
coordination
with
the
Tennessee
Titans
and
the
Tennessee
Sports
Hall
of
Fame
was
able
to
visit
the
Tennessee
Titans
Practice
facility.
Bob
Hyde
of
the
Titans
hosted
Austin,
his
family
and
Steps2Hope
officials
on
a
visit
for
a
day
with
the
Titans.
Steps2Hope
along
with
Taziki's
Mediterranean
Cafe
has
joined
as
sponsors
for
TEAM
AUSTIN
which
will
assist
making
modifications
to
Austin's
house.
Austin,
an
outstanding
athlete
throughout
high
school,
lettering
in
three
varsity
sports
suffered
a
severe
spinal
injury
in
June
2012
and
was
diagnosed
as
a
quadriplegic.

The
Aristocrat
of
Bands
from
Tennessee
State
University
will
take
their
high
energy
musical
show
to
St.
Louis,
when
they
march
into
the
Edward
Jones
Dome
Thursday,
Sept.
26
and
take
the
field
at
halftime
during
the
nationally
televised
game
between
the
San
Francisco
49ers
and
the
St.
Louis
Rams.
They
have
played
halftime
shows
for
the
NFL
in
front
of
thousands
of
fans
from
Chicago,
New
York,
Los
Angeles,
and
in
their
hometown
of
Nashville,
Tenn.
The
Aristocrat
of
Bands
will
perform
during
halftime,
Thursday,
Sept.
26.
The
game
between
the
49ers
and
Rams
will
be
televised
on
the
NFL
Network
beginning
at
7:25
p.m.
CDT.
They
will
also
perform
during
halftime
of
the
Gateway
Classic,
Saturday,
Sept.
28,
beginning
at
2
p.m.

at
the
Edward
Jones
Dome.
The
band
will
perform
again
this
year
at
the
Mason
Rudolph/TSHF
Golf
Tournament
on
October
1st
as
they
have
done
the
last
two
years.

THE
2014
WOMEN’S
BASKETBALL
HALL
OF
FAME

Inductee,
Lin
Dunn
will
join
the
2014
Women’s
Basketball
Hall
of
Fame
Class
of
Inductees
on
ABC
during
the
WNBA
All‐Star
Game
at
the
Mohegan
Sun.
She
will
be
formally
inducted
into
the
Women’s
Basketball
Hall
of
Fame
on
June
14,
2014
in
Knoxville,
TN.
With
the
addition
of
the
Class
of
2014,
the
WBHOF
will
recognize
the
1976
USA
Olympic
Team
for
their
contributions
to
the
game
in
a
display
at
the
Hall
entitled
“Trailblazers
of
the
Game”.
The
1976
team
will
join
the
All
American
Red
Heads,
Edmonton
Grads,
the
Former
TSHF
Executive
Director,
Dr.
Helms/Citizens
Savings/Founders
Bank,
and
the
Wayland
Baptist
Flying
Queens
as
the
Bill
Emendorfer
with
TSSAA
only
five
groups
recognized
as
“Trailblazers
of
the
Game”.
Dunn
is
the
current
head
President,
Mike
Reed
during
a
coach
of
the
Indiana
Fever.
She
has
more
than
500
wins
to
her
name.

Steven
Fox,
the
2012
U.S.
Amateur
Champion,
captured
himself
a
five‐
stroke
victory
at
the
98th
Annual
Tennessee
State
Amateur
Championship
hosted
by
Chattanooga
Golf
&
Country
Club
earlier
this
month.
Coming
into
the
final
round,
Fox
had
a
single
stroke
lead
over
Carson
Jacobs
at
7‐under‐par.
He
proceeded
to
capitalize
in
the
final
round
and
fired
a
67
which
made
his
72‐hole
total
270
(‐10
under
par).
Fox,
from
Hendersonville,
plans
to
go
professional
just
following
the
U.S.
Amateur
Championship
of
which
he
is
defending
his
title.
This
was
his
last
time
competing
in
the
Tennessee
State
Amateur.
