THE DREAM OF MAKING A FILM ONE DAY comes closer to reality on Sunday, February 3rd, 2013, when selected demo scenes from THE RAIN HOUSE will be screened at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Francesca Beale Theater. The 8-‐minute sneak preview is part of the Dance Films Association’s DANCE ON CAMERA Festival running from February 1st to 5th. Sunday evening’s all-‐Finnish events start at 7pm at the Walter Reade Theater’s Frieda and Roy Furman Gallery with an exhibition of twenty-‐five dance-‐
related and inspired photographic works by Arno Rafael Minkkinen. A DANCE OF LIGHT: FORTY YEARS OF SELF-‐PORTRAITS includes a guided tour by the artist and a short slide projection. At 7.30 pm, the Consulate General of Finland will host a reception for the show and film events to follow, after which the evening shifts to the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center’s Francesca Beale Theater where the demo of THE RAIN HOUSE, written and directed by Arno Rafael Minkkinen, will be screened in advance of the New York premiere of SOUNDBREAKER, Kimmo Koskela’s mind-‐bending documentary on Finnish accordion legend, Kimmo Pohjonen, that has been screened at more than twenty-‐five festivals worldwide. ©Arno Rafael Minkkinen, Fosters Pond, 10.10.10 A Dance of Light: Forty Years of Self-‐Portraits / Barry Friedman Ltd.
