“Pro Tennis is Back in Gold River!”
In 2012 the FSP Gold River Women’s Challenger was a huge success with players, fans and
sponsors. The 2013 the event is going to be even better. This year the tournament is going to be
June 23 to June 30, 2013. This date will attract more kids and a higher ranked players from
around the world.
Now is the time to partner with Sacramento’s only women’s professional tennis event. The
celebration begins with you, our valued sponsor, as we host 64 professional athletes for a one-ofa-kind tennis and entertainment event.
This event will span 8 days and reach out to the community in many different ways. The
benefactor of this tournament will be the Sacramento Regional Tennis Foundation.
Sacramento Regional Tennis Foundation was formed to foster and advance the sport of tennis
among youth in the Sacramento region as part of a national effort to eradicate childhood obesity
in the United States and ensure young people get a healthy start in life.
Women athletes from over 64 nations compete in Pro Circuit events. Top WTA stars like Maria
Sharapova, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Anastasia Myskina, Melanie Oudin and Christina McHale
have all played Pro Circuit events. Last year one of our semi-finalist, seventeen year old
Samantha Crawford was the 2012 US Open Junior Girls Champion.
This event is being held at one of the premier tennis clubs in California, Gold River Racquet
Club. Gold River Racquet Club has been in the Sacramento area for over 27 years and is part of
Spare Time Clubs (a local tennis, health and fitness organization.) Gold River Racquet Club has
a rich tennis history and has had the good fortune to have the likes of Connors, Agassi, Borg,
Roddick, Davenport, Navratilova, McEnroe and so many other great players, grace it courts
when they played host to the Sacramento Capitals in the World Team Tennis League. Become a
