Welcome to the musical world of Densen. We may not be the largest audio
manufacturer in the world, but we have a strong desire to be the best.
We are a select group of music lovers, who, for the last decade, have stretched the
limits of audio.We produce a select range of musical instruments, all of which have
been designed to give you lifelong enjoyment of music.
But not only do we focus on the musical qualities of our products: In a world more
and more obsessed with disposable consumer goods, we pride ourselves on
making products of lasting quality and enjoyment.
Many have commented on the fact that we seem to avoid the usual paths of
audio companies. We did not, as such, design a DVD player, though such a
product would be highly profitable for us. Instead, we designed the absolutely best
sounding FM tuner possible.
Most companies seem obsessed with giving the market what everyone else gives
it - we are much more occupied with making products that make a difference to
the owner, products which will result in endless hours of musical enjoyment, and
become valuable treasures to the possessors.
Having already reached this goal in the design phase, our dedication to
perfection is also carried out in the manufacturing phase, where we combine
state of the art manufacturing techniques with classic workmanship in creating a
line of product of a quality so high that we are not afraid of backing it with a
lifelong warranty.

Choosing a new audio system is an important issue, after
all it is an investment you will have to live with for many
years to come.

When people invest in a product like ours, we feel it is
important that we respect the customer, and not fall into
the traditional marketing "trap", where a new "improved"
product is launched each fall, where the warrenty is
only very limited, and where the only care about
the customer, is to get his money, and get him
out of the door again.

Ad 1) Many take perfect recordings with them to the
dealer when they are on the search for a new system.
Instead take the music you like with you. After all, you do
not play the CD's to impress the dealer with your high
standards of music, but to find a system that plays the
music you like. And rest assure, that when the customers
are out of the door, the dealer himself plays the music he
likes as well !
Which this in mind, we take a
different approch to many of the
established norms in the
business. You have with
out any doubt heard
the expression "it is so
good it reveals the
poor quality of most
recordings". But is that
really a quality ??!?!?
Shouldn't it reveal the music of
the recording ?!? And reveal as
much music as possible ! For us, the
answer to this is very clear, and with
this in mind we have made the following
simple rules for evaluation of audio:
Ad 2) Avoid the trap of ending up with a system that can
only plays a select few recordings, instead focus on
ending up with a system that can dig out music of even
the poorest recordings, so you can play the music you
want to hear, instead of the recordings you want to hear.
Ad 3) Many people have a very select taste of music, but
often experience that when they ends up with a high end
system, it can only play one kind of music, namely the
preferred musical style of the owner. However a true high
end system should be capable of playing all kind of
music, so the owner can discover all kinds of music, as
there is so much good music in all gengeres, and a good
system is a tool to discover this, and broaden ones musical
horizon.

Ad 4) Often you are told that the products should warm
up for weeks, and you should not evaluate them before
this period is over. However the downside of this is that
during a warm up period of several weeks you get used to
a product, and as such partly looses your ability to
evaluate it objectively. Therefore a good system should
play music from the initial turn on. Obvious it will - and
should - become better in time, but nearly from the
beginning the musicallity should be present. This will only
warrant you with even more musicallity as time passes.
Ad 7) In real life you go to a concert to listen to music and
have a musical experience. In reality it should be the
same with your audiosystem, the music should be what
moves you. Often people ends up only listening to the hifi,
they place the artist on the soundstage etc etc, but they
ends choosing to listen to the best recordings, instead of
the best music possible, eventhough the music is the
reason to get a audiosystem.
Ad 5) Often a product is bought to compensate for a
problem in the system, say like buying a new "soft"
sounding CD player, because the system sounds bright.
However this is like the classic of going to the doctor
because the toe hurts, not realising it is because the shoe
is to small. Often there is another reason, and our
experience is that when a system do not play musically,
the listener starts listen after faults, exactely like when you
see a boring film, you starts to notice the poor quality of
the pictures, whereas the opposite happens, when you
see a good film, where you can even forgets that it is only
black and white..!
Ad 6) Many owners of audiosystems are easily impressed
with the largest most powerfull audioequipment, and
ends up with a system that looks like Launch Control at
Cape Canaveral. However if size was everything we
would all be driving in trucks !
A good system is a system not only you, but also your
partner in life cherish. After all there is no fun sitting in front
of the system, and knowing that your partner absolutely
loate your choise of equipment. Choose a system that all
can live with, this will allow all to share the passion of music

Lifetime warranty
The best warranty in the industry
People who have bought a used Densen product can
get Densen to do a repair for a fixed price, and pay in
advance on the internet.
As the only company in the industry, Densen offer a life
long warrenty. We have always done this, but never before
advertised this, as it was so logical for us, that if you want to
build the best product, you also offer the best warrenty.
We have all spareparts on stock, and will do all repairs
relatively quick. In the unlikely event that we do not have
a sparepart many many years after a production of a
product seaced, we will offer the owner a compensation.
The lifetime warranty is for the first owner of a product.
People who buy used Densen equipment, do not get the
warranty, but can have repairs done at the Densen head
quarter for a very reasonably price.
The lifetime warrenty works as follows:
When purchasing a new Densen product, you must send
in the registration card enclosed with all Densen products
within 14 days after the purchase.
The local warrenty, which is carried out by your local
dealer/distributor and variates from country to country,
when this warrenty is over, the Densen lifelong warranty
takes over.
When the Densen lifelong warranty is valid, you must
communicate directly with the Densen Head Quarter,
and we recommends using email: [email protected]
Our staff will decide if the product needs to be send to
Denmark, or can be fixed on your home address. In the
cases where it must be shipped to Denmark, we
recommends using normal surface mail which can be
done secure and cheap. This cost the owner of the
product must pay. The repair, spareparts, and
returnshipment will be paid by Densen.

Total Quality
Attention to every detail
of the reasons why solderings often breaks up after a
couple of years, with faulty products as a result. In order to
further improve the solderings and avoid oxidation of
these, all solderings on Densen products are made in an
artificial athmosphere of nitrogen. This improves signal
transfer, and secures an extremely long lifetime of the
solderings.
During the last 20 years we have been told that handbuild
highend is preferably. However eventhough this goes for
some aspects of the building process, it is not correct for
all parts of the process.
From the intial design phase, we focus on giving as much
music and quality for the money as possible. An example
are the cabinets of Densen. Where others use steel and
huge heatsinks to dissipate the heat, Densen design the
cabinets in Aluminium, which has excellent heat
dissipation characteristics and are at the same time non
magnetic, which reduce MID (Magnetic Induced
Distortion) to an absolute minimum. This makes it possible
to avoid the external heatsink, as the cabinet is used as
heatsink, thereby focusing the resources on the design of
the audiostages, instead of heatsinks which does not
improve the sound !
The parts quality is extremely high, like Vishay metalfilm
resistors, custommade capacitors, cusomtmade toroid
transformers which is "extra stiff" to avoid the voltage
lowers during high outputs, which otherwise would
compress the dynamics.
There is also only one main pcb board in each product, to
avoid lengthy signalpaths through wires. As wires also
means costly handmounting, the benefits of a
motherboard is also lowered mounting costs, which again
allows for even better parts quality.
We also believe the design of the cabinet resembles the
care taken in all other aspects of the design, so if a
product is made of poorly manufactured materials, with
visible screws, various colours on the display etcetera, it is
possibly a sign that there has also not been used care in
the design of the audiostages. We take an extremely
perfectionistic approach to all aspects of the design,
whether it is the small details, like there is not visible screws
on any Densen design. Whether it is the extruded
aluminium cabinets, which are made to extremely high
standards due to the extrusion process (instead of the
usual sheet metal which is bended into shape).
The focus on maximizing the sound, also means the
features on the frontplates are only the most essential. This
is obvious when looking at the very few pushbottons on
each Densen product.
If you wants features you must therefore invest in the
Gizmo systemremote, which can do everything your heart
desires with a Densen system and even dim the light in
your listening room, when the forthcoming lightcontroller
from Densen is available.
To allow easy upgrade of features and software, the
microprocessors in each Densen product can easily be
upgraded, to allow the products to work perfect with
future products.
The printed circuit boards are all made of Teflon, and all
are robotmounted with a precision of 0,02mm, which is
much better than by hand mounting.The benefits are that
such presicion avoids stress in the solderings, which is one

Surround Sound
An important piece of the vision of Densen is that you will
be able to continuously upgrade your system, without
having to discard most of the components you have
already invested in. It is equally important that you will
have the same sound signature in all Densen products.
This means that by upgrading your system, you will not end
up with a sound that is completely differently from the one
you started out with. This means if you like the sound you
have from your existing system, you will love the sound
when you have upgraded it. Every time you upgrade you
will experience the Densen sound, just at a higher level
each time.
The SA boards (Surround Audio Boards) are not a
technological breakthrough, but they are a revolution for
new features. The SA boards are add-on boards for all
integrated and pre amplifiers (except B-200). This is a very
easy and sonically superior way to enter the world of
home cinema or Super Audio system.
All our products are dedicated 2 channel products
initially, but with the SA boards you get 5.1 and 7.1 line
input and 5.1 and
7.1 line preout.
This means you
can
easily
connect
a
s u r r o u n d
processor, DVDplayer or SACD-player. If you have a system consisting of a
preamp and 2 channel power amp, you can then with
the SA boards implemented connect a B-340 (4 ch
amplifier) and then have 6 channels (5+1) of high grade
amplification.
There is a red line in all our products, so that each time you
upgrade your system, you will get even more music. Our
opinion is that an upgrade must be well worth the money
you have paid and not just be minor improvements.
The continuing upgrade possibilities mean that you can
start out with a B-100 and a B-400 PLUS. Upgrade with a B300 to gain a better sound and to utilize the benefits of Biamping. The B-400 PLUS can be upgraded to the XS
version. (Existing customers with a B-400 can also upgrade
to the PLUS version or the XS version). The integrated or pre
amplifier (B-250) can be upgraded with external power
supplies for even better sound.
The SA boards exist in two versions; The SA-02 board is the
standard version with a competitive price, allowing for
easy Surround. SA-01 is the reference version, with
extremely high quality preampstages.
Now you can add more power amplifiers to enjoy the
benefits of Bi-amping, Tri-amping and maybe even Quadamping. Ultimately you can go active with SAXO
electronic crossover… This way you can always build on
your system and upgrade to better sound.
All 5.1 and/or 7.1 channels can be controlled from the
Gizmo system remote, so that you can adjust for perfect
levels and balance between the channels from your
favorite listening and viewing position.

SAXO Electronic Crossover
Multiroom & DenLink
The SAXO electronic crossover is the ultimate expansion
for your Densen system. When you go active with the
SAXO you will experience the greatest of all
improvements when it comes to sound. Due to the
superior technology of an active system compared to a
passive, the improvement is simply massive !
The DenLink system, allows 2-way communication
between the products and in multiroom installations. It is
made to be an intelligent system, where each product,
will help each other, meaning that IR signals received by
any Densen product, will be transferred to the product for
which they are intended, securing a perfect receiving of
IR information. Each product will be aware of which other
Densen products are in the system, to allow problem free
use of remote etc.
At the same time the SAXO solution is reasonable in price,
since the SAXO is build into the amplifiers you already
have, so there is
not investments in
a cabinet to house
the
SAXO,
no
investments
in
extra cables to
connect to the
electronic crossover, only an investment in the SAXO
boards.
The SAXO boards are custommade exactly to YOUR
speakers. This means that we measure and analyse your
speaker, and make an exact crossover for it. Due to the
benefits of the active crossover, compared to the passive
crossover, you must expect a huge improvement in all
aspects of the sound; clarity, transparency, dynamics,
soundstage, detaillevel, and overall musicality will be
massively improved.
If you later decide to upgrade your loudspeaker to
another model or brand your SAXO crossover will not be
obsolete. The SAXO crossover you own can be upgraded
to fit any new loudspeaker you may choose.

On the integrated and pre amplifiers, the link system will
allow the user to put poweramplifiers into standby, to
send music to link amplifier in the kitchen, or another
place, and control the main system from any link
controller. It will be possible to take the remote transmitter
to the other room, and control the link from there, or to use
the remote in the main system like a normal remote. To
secure high quality sound in the multiroom system, linkoutput is done through a separate balanced
preampstage which is build into any Densen preamp or
integrated amp. The choice of balanced output in the
linksystem is to avoid hum with long cableruns. With
normal cablelenghts (in your main system) we feel
singleended amplification is better, which is the reason all
our products are single-ended.
All in all, this system is extremely versatile, and will be the
backbone of Densen products for many years to come. It
is even prepared for extensions, meaning that the CPU,
which is the heart of the system, can be updated.
The DenLink / Multiroom system is also prepared for
controlling lights so they will be able dim.

This is the new top of the line integrated from Densen. It is
built around the B-250 preamp, and the B-350 monoblock
means it is simply a killer amp in sheep's clothing!
Considering its heritage, this is an outstanding amplifier,
which will secure a solid musical basis in every audio
system. At the same time, it is very versatile, and can be
upgraded with both an MM/MC phono stage, SAXO
crossover, and SA Board. It contains the advanced
microprocessor driven relay attenuator using metal film
resistors, and the preamp stage is also based around the
preamp stage found in the B-250. The power supply is
massive, with separate 5 power stages for preamp and
poweramp, and with more than 130.000uF in the power
supply. The poweramplifier is 100w per channel, and with
the advanced DMCD it has a tremendous grip on even
the most difficult loads, which it handles with an ease and

When first launched, this classic of preamps was a
milestone in terms of musicality and hifi. It has been
unsurpassed for many years, and will continue to be in the
line for years to come. As you would expect, it bears the
Densen trademark of engaging musicality, but the B-200 is
also technically sophisticated. It is fully engineered for the
Gizmo system remote, prepared for surround-processor,
and an extensive upgrade path is available from one
power amplifier to a staggering high end system with 4

The new reference preamplifier from Densen is perhaps
the most advanced stereo preamp on the market. It is
filled with advanced solutions, which all share the goal of
giving you even more musicality. The volume is controlled
by an extremely precise attenuator made of Vishay
metal film resistors, which is switched by relays controlled
by the microprocessor.
This results in an unsurpassed precision and refinement,
and the attenuator contains no less than 256 steps! It
contains socket for the SA Board for surround, sockets DP03 and DP-06 MM and MC stages. The amplification
stages are all completely new designs, based on

Power amplifier
The B-300 is the smallest power amplifer in the Densen
range, however there is not really anything small about it. It
delivers 100 watts into 8 ohms and doubles in 4 ohms,
which is only done by the best of designs. It has the same
sound characteristics as the more expensive power
amplifiers.The B-300 can be adjusted internally to match a
passive preout, for use with a CD-player with variable
output directly. Internally there is also a socket for the
SAXO electronic crossover for an amazing improvement in
sound. However, most importantly and besides all these
features, the B-300 is an expression of Densen's musicality,
and bears all the trademarks of a Densen design, such as
a massive power supply, custom-made capacitors and a
fantastic performance. You will not find a more musical
power amplifier at this price point.

The B-300XS is the super version of the legendary DM-30.
The B-300XS contains an outputstage built using Densen's
unique DMCD technology (patent pending). This makes
the B-300XS extremely fast and precise, while retaining
unlimited control of the speakers connected. Also the
bandwidth is extreme and goes straight to 400.000Hz,
resulting in improved slew-rate. This amplifier, as any
Densen amplifier, has the capability to drive any
loudspeaker on the market.
Even though the B-300 seems as the same amplifier as the
B-300 on paper, however the difference is nothing but
breathtaking and this is the main reason why it is one of
the most sold power amplifiers. The sound is much faster,
transparent and dynamic. The amplifiers will control the
bass driver with a remarkable grip resulting in
earthshaking bass. You will not be able to stop your foot
from tapping.

Reference CD-player
The Densen reference CD-player is - according to many
respected magazines - one of the best CD-players on the
market. This is also why many magazines use it as
reference.
One of the reasons for this is the unique PlusBit
Technology©. Developing the B-400XS, we have done a
lot of rethinking about the traditional CD player design,
and have come up with several unique solutions. The XS
converter contains the groundbreaking new PlusBit
Technology© from Densen. In the B-400XS, the PlusBit
Technology© mathematically adds one extra bit, so that
the original source material, instead of containing 16 bits,
contains 17. Remember: This is not simple upsampling or
oversampling. This is actually calculating one extra bit. This
is a dramatic improvement of the original material as it
means a doubling of the resolution of the CD. As a side
effect of the PlusBit Technology©, the converters work at
25 bit (!!!) meaning that all aspects of the conversion are

In the early stages of the developing process, the first
criteria for a system remote were laid down, and already
at that time, it was decided that the Gizmo should be
something quite unique. And so it was... This is the Densen
system remote with a capital R. This is a typical example of
how Densen wants to make the ultimate product, and not
just supply something mediocre to please the market. No
boring plastic here - 100% aluminum casing! Technically,
the Gizmo uses a new way to transmit infrared signals
called Burst Mode. This secures a long transmission
distance, and enables you to use the Gizmo without
having to point directly at the product to be controlled. It
has an internal rechargeable battery, which means you
do not have to change batteries, just connect the
enclosed charger. It is designed so that it charges for 24

quality. The DP-03 fits in all Densen products ever made.
The new DP-04 and DP-06 are based on the very popular
DP-02MC stage. In these new designs, it has be
redesigned and improved, with even better sound circuits,
and LED's instead of the DP-02s light bulbs, in the
advanced light driven power supply, which secures an
extremely clean power for the delicate circuits to give an
extremely noisefree and musical performance from any
MC or MM cartridges. The difference between the DP-04
and DP-06 is only the shape. The DP-04 fits the B-100, B-200
and DP-Drive. The DP-06 fits all the new Densen products.

Choice of technology
Non-Negative Feedback
DMCD
Since the introduction of the first Densen amplifier, all Densen models
are zero-feedback designs. This means there is no feedback loop in
the amplifiers (neither local- nor global-feedback is used).
DMCD is an acronym for Dense Mass Current Distribution, and by
using the unique DMCD technology (patent pending), the current is
at all times present at the output terminal. The DMCD technology
was developed by the Densen design team, in order to further
improve the already classic designs.The result of the implementation
of DMCD is an extremely low output impedance for a non-feedback
amplifier. This makes the designs extremely fast and precise, while
retaining unlimited control of the speakers connected.
In principle, a feedback loop works by comparing the input to the
output and adjusting the input signal until the output signal is
perfect. However, as the signal always takes some time to pass
through the amplifier stages, the comparison of input and output is
not the comparison of exactly the same signal. This means that the
theory that feed-back should improve sound by avoiding influence
on the signal from the amplifier stages, is simply theory and not true!
The fact is that feedback, no matter to what degree, alters the signal
and the result is: Dynamics will be compressed, micro details
compensated away, details smeared, sound stage altered, speed
slowed down, transparency smeared, and so on. Naturally, you will
not have these problems with a zero-feedback design. However, the
basic design must be extremely much better than designs using
feedback, which of course is a challenge to our design team, but
also a goal, because when it is reached, it gives a technically
superior design, which results in a musicality and sound quality which
must be heard to be believed.
That is the reason why ALL products from Densen are zero-feedback
designs!

Production technology
All Densen products are manufactured using the most recent
technology. Nearly all circuit boards are made of teflon, and are
double-layered boards, so that the pcb board can have a noise
screening layer on one side while the signal is on the other side, with
a very short signal path. All solderings are made using silver solder,
which is soldered in an artificial atmosphere of nitrogen, to avoid
oxidation. Robots are used extensively to mount our PCB boards,
which results in components mounted with a precision of minimum
0,02 mm !!!
An example could be the output transistors we use in the B-110
amplifier. The output transistors are also used in some of the world's
most expensive high end amplifiers at more than 11 times the price
of a B-110, but then, also in a B-110.
We have always used SMD components, as these have the benefit
of having no leads, which results in shorter signal path, while the
solderings are also done directly to the component,instead of to the
leads, which ensures better conductivity, while also being thermally
better and with higher reliability.There are many other aspects of the
manufacturing process, where Densen sets quality standards never
before seen in high end audio, and the result is a build quality and
reliability which makes it easy for us to offer the outstanding lifelong
warranty on our products, while also influencing positively on the
quality of the sound.
We measure and select many components to ensure that the
quality is high enough, and that the components match one
another.
Like many other components in a Densen unit, the capacitors in the
power supplies are custommade for Densen. This is a solution we
have often had to resort to, as we simply cannot find components
good enough in any other way.
This, for instance, is the case with the Alps potentiometers, where we
discard 35 %.And this is the case for all transistors in our products that
are selected by robot before mounting.
When we use standard components, these are also of the highest
quality. This, for example, applies to the resistors in our products, all of
which are 1% non-inductive metal film resistors, specially developed
for demanding military use.
Choice of Components
All Densen products are designed and manufactured in Denmark
under the most demanding quality controls.
We only use the positively best components in our products.
Often you will hear certain types and makes mentioned as being
the best. It is not certain that we use these, but you can be sure that
we have tested them, and if they are good enough, we will use
them, no matter what they cost.... Yes, no matter what they cost,
since - due to our large-scale operations - we are able to buy
components at prices that allow us to develop our products without
economic considerations when it comes to components.
