Make a Wish: Through June, El Paso
Denny’s restaurants are helping the Make-AWish Arizona program raise money by selling “Wish Stars” for $1. People can decorate it with their name, the name of a loved
one or a personalized message before displaying it on the walls of participating diners. Each star purchased will help Denny’s
raise money for the organization with 100
percent of donations going to the charity.
PTSD Retreats: The National Veterans
Wellness and Healing Center in Angel Fire,
N.M., is providing retreats for veterans, active duty military, guard and Reserve personnel, and their significant others who have
been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress.
The next retreats will be Sept. 18-25, Oct.
2-9 and Oct. 23-30. The retreats are seven
days and attendees must commit to the full
seven days. The organization pays for lodging, meals, and meetings. Transportation
is the responsibility of the attendees. Find
