Vasco is a revolutionary slow recovery range of visco-elastic polymers that are
designed to provide support and protection where it’s needed most. Developed,
tested and manufactured by Vitafoam, Vasco is the ideal solution for a wide variety
of applications because it conforms to any shape – whatever the size or weight and
it absorbs energy.
Vasco is also much more open celled and breathable than other visco-elastic
products on the market and for this reason you can have a much cooler and more
comfortable nights sleep.
SUBJECT TO EXTENSIVE CLINICAL TRIALS
Multizone Reflexion has undergone extensive clinical trials and tests by the Department of Medical Physics and
Biomedical Engineering at Salisbury Health Care NHS Trust in Wiltshire. Furthermore, the Multizone Reflexion
materials conform to the Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety regulations, so it meets safety requirements
appropriate to both home and medical environments.
Vasco and Reflex materials conform to the stringent requirements of Schedule 1, Part 1: The Furniture and
Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulation 1988 (amended 1989, 1993).

THE SECRET IS IN THE LAYERING
The Multizone Reflexion is a remarkable mattress system because it comprises two
distinct layers, which carry out different but equally important functions. The upper
layer is manufactured from VS60 85, the Visco-Elastic Cellular Polymer, which has the
desirable qualities of being both energy-absorbing and temperature-sensitive. This
high-density material responds to natural body heat and forms to the body’s shape,
creating a reflection of the body contours. No matter what the body weight, the Vasco
spreads the sleeper’s weight so that when equilibrium is achieved, the sleeper is
subjected to the least possible pressure.
The thicker, supportive lower layer is made from the market leading high-resilient
Reflex melamine-free material. This provides the support and flexibility for the Vasco
upper layer.
Both layers feature the Multizone comfort cells that react individually to the forces being applied. Those on the upper
layer help to further reduce pressure points on the sleeper, reducing vertical interface pressure and horizontal shear
forces.
The Multizone comfort cells assist both surfaces in responding to all the different configurations of an adjustable bed
base. The air channels around the comfort cells enhance ventilation and airflow through the mattress.
Below you will see a pressure map showing the pressure exerted by a human body lying on a standard hospital
mattress and on the multizone Reflexion mattress system. These tests have both been carried out using the same terry
towelling layer to achieve a true comparison. The lightest pressure is shown in blue and the heaviest in red.

By spreading pressure more evenly over the sleeper’s surface area,
Multizone Reflexion promotes greater sleeping comfort and relief to joints
and muscles, whilst also improving circulation. This reduces the need to
toss and turn throughout the night, eliminating unnecessary wear and tear
on the sleeper and so further enhancing sleep quality.
The Multizone Reflexion is available in a number of different compositions,
according to the body weight of the sleeper. The base is one of our Reflex
