HISTORY:
Megaworld, founded by Dr Andrew L. Tan, was incorporated and registered with the Securities and Exchange
Commission on 24 August 1989. It was listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange on 15 June 1994.
The company commenced its operations with the construction of a residential condominium in the Greenhills
area of Manila. In 1994, the company expanded its operations, taking advantage of increased demand and
economic stability.
The principal business activity of Megaworld is property development for sale and property investment for rental
purposes.
Since its incorporation, Megaworld has established a strong track record as a diversified developer in the upper
and middle-income property market. Its portfolio of projects encompasses vertical office and residential
developments, townhouse communities, hotel and mixed-use developments, and subdivision projects. Through
its affiliate, Empire East Land Holdings Inc., Megaworld is also involved in medium-cost township community
developments mostly in South Luzon.
