Phone: 320-631-5432 Web: www.stgabriels.com Name: Address: Telephone: Email: Areas of Interest: Auxiliary Board Member Publicity Committee Gift Shop Fund-Raisers Home-Delivered Meals Membership Committee Stitch n’ Time Sewers Telephone/Office Help History of Past Purchases In the Auxiliary’s humble beginning, the first recorded purchase in 1946 was an electric sewing machine, which has led today to the financial support highlights of the past 10 years: 1997 - 2001 $20,000/year towards the emergency room project; yearly Lifeline machine, toy drive, holiday gift giving, support area food shelves in Little Falls, Pierz and Motley, and college scholarships. 2002 - 2005 Radiology Pig-O-Stat, Geri chairs/ recliners, patient cart, digital inclinometer, large wheelchairs, upper-body strength machine, infant stabilette, ultra-slim colonoscope, embroidery sewing machine and supplies, annual gifts of a Lifeline machine, holiday gift-giving, support area food shelves, college scholarships and the Lifeline foundation. 2006 - 2010 Four defibrillators, annual Lifeline machines, college scholarships, food shelf donations, holiday gift giving, book project (donations of books to the Friends of the Library), Lifeline foundation support, and beginning in 2007, a $100,000 commitment of $20,000/year for five years for the hospital building campaign. The auxiliary officially formed in 1946 with 30 members. Today, the membership total is over 270 and growing. The number of ways auxiliary members are serving St. Gabriel’s Hospital is also expanding. In 1986, the auxiliary began operating a Gift Shop on the ground floor of the hospital, adding another “opportunity to serve,” which is the underlying mission for all auxiliary activities. Mission Membership The St. Gabriel’s Hospital Auxiliary is dedicated to serving the patients, staff, employees and the board of directors of St. Gabriel’s Hospital by: • Raising funds • Providing volunteer service • Promoting public relations in the community There are three types of memberships: 1) Patron (Non-active member) For those who simply wish to give financial support without volunteering their time and energy: $15.00 annually. 2) Regular (Active member) Volunteers who regularly volunteer: $10.00 annually. 3) Senior Citizen Persons age 65 or older: $5.00 annually. * The Auxiliary’s membership year begins July 1 and ends June 30. Members are invited to the annual meeting and appreciation reception. Rewards Being a member of the St. Gabriel’s Hospital Auxiliary produces both intrinsic and tangible rewards. You can gain the positive feelings of serving others as well as often learn new skills related to the health care industry, or put to work the skills you already possess in rewarding new ways.
