OPENING:
Novatech has been a bustling hive
of activity in what has been a busy
start to 2010. With the usual myriad
of events in the month now fondly
coined “Mad March,” we continued
our support of the Adelaide Fringe
Festival and the many music festival
that have now become regular
fixtures in the summer calendar.
As the conference season now
kicks into full gear, Novatech has
been busy helping PCO’s and event
planners elevate their conferences
to exciting new heights with inspiring
conventions being held and lavish
gala dinner extravaganzas.
We are also proud to announce that
Novatech has become a member of
Meeting and Events Australia (MEA).
We look forward to contributing to
the education and development of
our industry members.
Novatech looks forward to what
promises to be a busy remainder
of 2010, with many events already
booked in and a summer concert
season that promises to be one of the
best yet.
Regards
MEA National Conference
Novatech was excited to attend its
first MEA National Conference in
Melbourne last month. Our Sales
and Marketing Manager Anthony Vade
mixed and mingled with the cream
of the crop of Australia’s meeting
industry.
We are thrilled to be involved with
the organisation and look forward
to working with the other audio
visual constituents to develop an
AV education program to benefit
MEA members. It is hoped a uniform
education program aimed at PCO’s
and event managers, will help
to dispel many of the myths and
uncertainties about the AV industry.

Novatech was proud to work
with the Adelaide Entertainment
Centre to launch their new redeveloped facilities. The new
theatre venue, Orb, renovated Star
Room and foyer were showcased to
Adelaide industry elite. The opening
featured a stunning performance
by Laser Man and musical guests
Lowrider, Sundance Kids and Special
Patrol. The guests were treated to a
demonstration of the various rooms
capabilities and the theatre’s new
L’Acoutsics V’DOSC sound system.
The following Sunday saw the public
launch of the re-development. The
public toured the venue from top
to bottom and not only saw the
backstage workings but also were
entertained by performances from
The Fairies, Ticklish Allsorts and Ding
Entertainments tribute to Mamma
Mia. The venue is proving to be an
exciting addition to the Adelaide
marketplace and is quickly filling up
with bookings from event planners
and concert promoters keen to try
out the new facilities.
Australian Tourism
Exchange 2010
The Australian Tourism Exchange
(ATE) is Australia’s premier tourism
trade event and the largest
international travel trade show of
its kind in the southern hemisphere.
The business-to-business event
provides a forum for Australian
tourism businesses to showcase their
products, meet overseas contacts
and negotiate business deals. It
also provides the international
travel trade the opportunity to
experience Australia first hand.
After a successful event in 2006
Novatech was again engaged as the
audio visual supplier for the event.
International buyers from the UK,
Europe, the Americas, the Gulf
Countries, South Africa, New Zealand
and the South Pacific converged on
the Adelaide Event and Exhibition
Centre. A bevy of Australia’s tourist
destinations showcased their wares
hoping to secure a percentage of
the 100,000 networking and business
deals conducted during the event. A
series of dinner-networking events
saw Novatech’s entire inventory of
plasma screens in restaurants all
over the city, allowing for intimate
presentations and helping to promote
Adelaide’s famous culinary scene.
Thanks to the great team from Infront
Events and Novatech, SA has proven
once again that it is capable of
hosting high calibre events that rival
the Eastern states.

that it is possible to run a genre
specific festival and still get huge
attendances. With talks of making it
a more regular event and negotiations
underway with some big name artists,
it will be great to see who will grace

We Love Sound
A welcome change of venue for We
Love Sounds helped punters enjoy
a great line up of DJs in relative
warmth. Utilising the Showground
Goyder and Jubilee Pavillions allowed
for large sound systems with minimal
spill between stages. Highlights
included Felix da Housecat and Steve
Aoki who both dropped great party
jams keeping the crowd hyped. It
was however, dance music royalty
Underworld who the crowd had come
to see and they did not disappoint.
Rocking the main stage on a Midas
XL3, not your standard night club dj
console by any stretch. Novatech
was happy to once again provide
all the sound, lighting and vision
equipment, for what has become one
of Adelaide’s most loved winter music
festivals.
