RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Industry sources and real
estate and other documents indicate that retailer Living Spaces
is planning a move into the greater Phoenix market, possibly
setting the stage for a hot contest with American Furniture
Warehouse — also on its way to the area.

ISPA slashes 2013 forecast

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — In its latest forecast, the International Sleep
Products Assn. has slashed its projected dollar growth this year to
just 3% and predicts unit sales will grow a modest 1.5%.
The spring forecast provides a fresh look at ISPA’s thinking,
which is more pessimistic than it was in the fall when the last
forecast was issued.
At that time, ISPA’s Forecast Panel envisioned 6.3% dollar
growth in 2013 and 2.3% unit growth. It was even more bullish
on 2014 prospects, calling for 8.5% dollar gains that year and

HIGH POINT — Case goods and upholstery manufacturer Fine
Furniture Design has replaced industry veteran Ted Philpott with
Jim Adams as president and CEO.
Philpott left the full-line furniture source late last month and
Adams immediately filled his responsibilities. Adams has been
with the company since mid-2007 and previously was vice president of marketing and product development.
Before joining FFD, Adams was with Hickory White and was
