Area History
The vitality of the Asheville market is known
around the country. Our growth has been solid
and non-speculative.
There are several commercial centers in the
Asheville market. The East of Asheville has been
the major retail/commercial location for the last
30 years with the Asheville mall as its hub, but in
the last 15 years the Hendersonville Road area
has been developed and is competing with the
Asheville Mall, but because of the population
growth of full time residents in the southern area
(which has flat land for development) both areas
are fairing well.
The new area –Airport Road– is coming on very
strong. A lot of the major tenants are already
there but many more are trying to get in on the
growth. This area being about 10 miles from
Asheville downtown and about 10 miles from
Hendersonville downtown makes growth here a
very easy decision for Retailers as well as services and corporate offices being only 1/2 mile
from the airport.
The list of major tenants shown here are ones
that are already open. Others like Hobby Lobby,
Bass Pro Shops and others are currently working
the area looking for sites.

gives this site advantages over some of the other
