The 2013/14 youth concert program Música Latina: A Symphonic Celebration of the Americas, designed for students in
grades 3-8 returns to Boettcher Concert Hall. When first performed, teachers said, “It was wonderful to reinforce that
FANTASTIC music has come from countries that many of them [students] have heard of or come from.”“With our population of
50% Hispanic students, this program culturally connected them to classical music – a big ‘Aha’ for many of them.” Teachers receive teaching materials that align with Colorado State Standards for music and social studies and a CD featuring the
program’s repertoire, enabling classroom study in advance of the field trip experience. Make reservations early! This will be the
most important field trip of the school year.
These popular programs explore the
relationship between music and
mathematics and music and life science
in an innovative concert performed by the
Colorado Symphony Chamber Orchestra
with narrator.
Presented in partnership with the Denver Art
Museum, this Inside the Score program features
projected imagery of beautiful Impressionist
masterpieces set against the music of Debussy,
Ravel and their peers. Learn how the visual
and musical artists of the time influenced and
inspired each other.
