The Malden Chamber of Commerce is pleased to
provide the 2013-2014 Directory to the Malden
community. We suggest you keep this book next to
your phone, or, better yet, in your car. This book is a
testament to the scope and diversity of our civic
community.
Our membership includes not only businesses, but non-profit organizations
and government agencies. All of us living and working in Malden benefit
from the strength and richness of our civic community. Almost every event,
kids program, or non-profit in Malden receives the lion’s share of its support
from the local businesses you pass by every day. You can do your part by
patronizing these businesses. Consider this: 45 cents of every dollar you
spend locally returns to our community in the form of jobs, taxes, or
donations to charity. Compare this to less than 14 cents of every dollar spent
at a national chain, a 3 to 1 benefit. Do us all a favor, shop and dine locally.
The Malden Chamber of Commerce has been serving this community for
110 years. We are here to promote and support the commercial and civic
interests within the City of Malden and affiliated communities. We believe
that a strong business community means a strong, healthy community. I am
pleased & honored to serve as Chamber President this year. The Malden
Business Community is like no other in its commitment to success,
determination & dedication to working with one another. As a Malden
Business Owner for over twenty years, I appreciate this opportunity to lead
such a great group of people.

From the Mayor
It is said that the three most important considerations in
real estate are location, location, location!
The City of Malden offers a prime location with its close
proximity to Boston and its ready access to major
roadways. Our location also allows the ability to walk,
bike, or drive to destinations inside or outside the
community quickly. The MBTA system offers yet another means for people to
commute around the area as we are the last major transportation hub north of
Boston. Our residents and businesses have access to two train stations, a
commuter rail, and bussing that can get them to downtown Boston in under
twelve minutes.
Malden is also home to one of the most culturally diverse populations in
Massachusetts and we take pride in our wide selection of housing stock,
excellent restaurants, historical parks, and three award-winning school districts.
In addition, the Middlesex Fells reservation, the Malden Bike Path, and our
River Walk offer opportunities for biking, jogging, walking, and other recreational
activities.
Moving forward, the City of Malden is investing close to $15M in the renovation
of parks and in the maintenance and repairs of our roads and sidewalks. We
are also increasing the utilization of technology in the areas of public safety and
education. These advancements are made possible as a result of the many new
developments breaking ground all over the city during the next twelve to
eighteen months.
The Chamber of Commerce has served as the catalyst in all that is happening
by connecting business with community. The Chamber provides assistance and
support for both new and established businesses while fostering a greater
sense of community. Inside this directory are many of the member businesses
that make Malden their home. The scope of services available within these
pages will provide you resources for all of your needs as a resident. Utilizing the
skills and services of our local businesses is one way we can help Malden move
forward.
