Grantstown Hall dairy farm currently milks 230 cows twice a day and the owner intends increasing his herd size to 270 cows in 2016. Up to recently the owner struggled to produce enough hot water to wash down the milking parlour equipment successfully. Another issue was he was using expensive electric immersion heating and it was prohibitive to use this during the day at €0.17/kWh Since WES supplied its multi-award winning DairyPOD. The savings have been spectacular and furthermore the farmer has copius amounts of hot water in morning and evening. He now washes down after each milking. There’s an added benefit of his TBC (Total Bacteria Count) now reading as low as 6, a direct result of increased washing down with hot water. The DairyPOD heats a 1000L Stainless steel tank in 4 hours and in Summer brings the water from 6°C to 85°C in this time. The farmers uses 900L during each wash down. The DairyPOD is gaining considerable interest in the UK where farmers can also receive RHI payments. CASE STUDY 2 Care Home Project: Hazelhurst Care Home, South Wales Equipment: 215kW EcoCabin c/w integral 8 tonne Fuel Store Installer: Bioshare & Pureglo Installation Date: September 2015 WES has had particular success in supplying EcoCabin to the Care Home sector across the UK. This particular project was particularly eye catching as the client required the EcoCabin in wood finish to blend in with the area. The 215kW EcoCabin contains an 8 tonne fuel store constructed from Aluzinc and fuel is fed automatically via flexi auger to the boiler. The E-COMPACT boiler contains the very latest software from WES incorporating the ‘i-GEN’ control system, facilitating even better remote control and data monitoring information.
