Alex R. The Halloween party was a hit. There weren’t many people there, but it was still a joyous experience. Many adults were there to chaperone the kids. The decorations were great! There were spider webs everywhere, a scarecrow, and a smoke machine. There was a ton of delicious food there. There were cupcakes, a king cupcake, ghost cake, brownies, cookies, sodas, and other drink products. There was great music, and many people danced. The DJ (Mr. Dawodu) even took music requests. It was a night of great costumes, food, music, and fun. Skye R., Ms. Surine, and Mr. Gangloff getting ready for the party. The drinks and food at the party. The party’s evil scarecrow visited us. Katherine P., Patrick C., and Ms. Surine dancing at the party. Matt K., Mr. Dawodu, Mr. Gangloff, Mr. Saran, and Caleb H. Baltimore Lab School Basket ball By James E. I might be starting point guard this year on the ball team. On our basket ball teams, we all try our best. Our coach is Mr. Saran; he teaches us drills we need like crossovers, dribbling, and shooting. Also, we practice chest and bounce passes, for example. When we play games Mr. Saran plays with us. He always makes the teams even and fair. If he can’t do that we play games like knockout and other games. We work together to win a game. If one of us has the ball, we’re not going to be a ball hog. If we see the open shot we’re going to take, if not we’re going to pass it to another player. We don’t just stand there with the ball and do nothing. We run, but we don’t rush the shot. We slow it down and take our time. If we don’t have the ball we block for our teammates. You can come over and set a pick for a player that needs help. When we lose, sometimes people get a little angry, but we get over it. Sometimes we over do our shots, get a little bit too out of hand and take a shot that we shouldn’t have taken. Sometimes we can also get mad at one another and we don’t practice good teamwork. That’s why we end up losing a game. But, if we use teamwork and good sportsmanship, we WIN! Mac vs. PC By Zach H. Which do you prefer now, before you read this article? I’m personally a PC fan over Mac, even though I sound like I’m against them. These are the main differences between Macs and PCs. Apple advertises that Macs never get viruses and never crash, but in reality Mac isn’t as good as you think. Macs can get viruses and can crash, just not as easily as PC. So, the main difference is the operating system. Mac has a stricter operating system then PC, Mac limits what you can do. PCs, on the other hand, let you do anything you want. Maybe you're thinking that Mac doesn't look as good right now. Am I right? However, because Apple limits what you can do, that doesn't mean it’s a bad product. Think of it like a pre- made kit with everything you need, like standard stuff. With its stricter operating system it has less of a chance of catching viruses or crashing. So, all in all, if you’re a not really a computer person, this is a pretty good system to use. As far as computers go, Macs are adequate, but for music Mac is great. I was actually listening to an Ipod when I wrote this. PCs is like a canvas; if you are a computer person, you can do anything you want with a PC. There are other programs that can top the Mac art programs that make the system so popular. PC does come with basic programs, but you really don't need them. You just need to know a lot more about computers, some are even offered for free. But remember, PCs are more likely to catch viruses then Mac, but it is easy to get rid of them. An illusion is an image that deceives you by having a false or misleading reality. This illusion is a group of circles that appear to be moving. Are they moving? What do you think? This image looks like its moving towards you. Your eyes are making the pictures move. If you look at one area for long enough, it will stop moving, but if you move your eyes from the image, it will start to move again. Did you know the creator of I Spy is having an exhibit?
