JELLYBEANS SKATING FELLOWSHIP Sunday, August 10 5:30PM 10701 Common Oaks Drive, Raleigh 27614 We’ve planned a fun, family skating fellowship for everyone! Come skate, eat and enjoy! Sign up in lobby if you are planning to attend. $5 regular skates, $6 inline skates Time To Plant! This is what the lord says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem:“Plow up the hard ground of your hearts!” Do not waste your good seed among thorns. (Jeremiah 4:3 NLT) In the NKJV, the latter part of that verse reads: “Break up your fallow ground,” and do not sow among thorns. Whether plowing or breaking, both require work and sacrifice. While working, you will need a tool suitable for the task. In this case, our prayer becomes the tool that breaks up the soil. How many times have we left our plows right in the middle of the field? Or in other words, right at the pinnacle of someone’s salvation, we quit praying. This is why Paul told the Thessalonians to, “Pray without ceasing.” We just completed thirty days of corporate prayer and I know by the grace of God, we broke up some fallow ground in the spirit realm. We had more soldiers praying this year and the level of prayers were more intense. So I’m now prophetically telling each of you to start planting your seeds. In other words, start declaring and speaking those things that be not as though they were. Whatever you have been believing God for, now is the time to submit your request and He will grant you the desires of your heart. Remember your labor in prayer is never in vain and God will allow you and RIC to reap if we faint not! -Pastor Olden Thornton THE TORCH The Torch July 2014 ILLUMINATING. INSPIRING. IGNITING. RIC LEADERS CONVERGE AT THE MOUNTAINTOP Story by Torch Staff, Photo by Marc D Hunter Photography Several RIC leaders recently traveled to the mountains of Moravian Falls in Wilkes County, NC for a three day leadership retreat to seek God with the goal of retreating which means to “pull back or move away or backward.” The Morning Light Retreat Center was nothing short of beautiful as the mountains yielded tranquility, serenity and stillness. From trekking up to the top of the mountains, to pouring into devotion and sharing with Pastor Thornton, to having Bishop Boone facilitate the leadership workshops and learning sessions, the weekend was just what we needed. Bishop Boone’s impartation on Friday was divine. His revelations helped create an incumbator thinktank that purposed us to operate on a higher level within RIC, Raleigh and around the world. We pray that God continues to sharpen our leadership as we bring spiritual insight, biblical knowledge and increased discernement to lead our membership into the great will that God has for our church and serving community. At the end of the retreat, we concluded the session with a powerful time of devotional sharing and then navigated to the Moravian Waterfall that was refreshing and pristine. What a retreat!
