HOA Dues Decreasing
Yes, you read that right! Your monthly HOA dues are going
down! Starting in January, our monthly HOA dues will go
down from $60 to $55.

While we are on the
subject do you know what
your monthly dues fund? You
probably knew they are used to pay for
the management company, regular landscaping
maintenance, and utilities for the common areas, but did
you realize your dues are also used by the active board
members and volunteers to complete maintenance
projects, upgrades, and of course fund the HOA events so
many of you have come to love. Below is a list of some of

Our Community Newsletter
October 2015 - January 2016
Fall Yard Sales
Litter Bugs
Yard and garage sales are hard work. You
prepare sometimes days or weeks in advance
by cleaning, separating, pricing, and
unboxing items. The HOA wants to reward
your hard work by holding a community yard
sale in November. This will encourage
potential buyers from across all of Las Vegas
to visit our community. The HOA will assist in
advertising by placing banners the week
before the event and advertising online. Once
you notice these signs, please check the
website for updated information and prepare
to join in the community-wide yard sale the
coming weekend. When the day finally
comes, put up all your tables and signs and
make some extra cash. When its over, please
consider donating any unsold items to charity
and remember to take down your signs.
Highland Hills is not a donation site, dump site or ‘lets just leave it
right here’ site. Please stop leaving items around the community
for others, especially children, to pick up. Adult romance books
and underwear have been found in the parks on more than one
occasion. I believe the books can be donated to a library and the
underwear...just throw those out, really, nobody wants those.
Junk mail can easily be shredded, recycled or just simply thrown
out in your own trash. Please stop shoving junk mail in the
bushes. It does have your address on it so it can be returned.
Leash Your Best Friend
For those that walk your dogs around the
neighborhood, be sure to remember to leash
them. Your pets may not react as friendly to
other people or animals as they do to you. A
leash also keeps them from running amok and
getting hit by a vehicle.
Not only is it the polite thing to do, but it is
also the law1.

Get Your Questions Answered
Ever want to voice an issue or subject or have
any questions answered? Did you know you
can call the management office or attend a
homeowner’s meeting? Asking a neighbor
about “what’s happening in the community”
does not always get you the right answer or
any details that you might need. Nobody goes
door to door with updates and we don’t have
a town squire running around. Take the
initiative and call the office or attend a
meeting.
Christmas Party & Decoration Contest
Highland Hills is happy to announce the annual Christmas party
for our residents. The event will be in the main park on December
12th from 11 AM to 3 PM. So come out, meet your neighbors, and
have a good time.
In addition to the party, we will once again be having our
Christmas decorating contest. To participate, all you need to do is
decorate your homes and yards. Homes will be judged over the
weekend of December 19th-22nd. Have fun and show off
your Christmas spirit.
Halloween Safe Street
Your Board of Directors would like to invite everyone to visit the
Highland Hills Safe Street on Ruby Cedar Court! There will be fog,
lights, decorations, and of course, candy. Come and prepare to be
scared!
Fall Craft Bazaar
Highland Hills community is looking for interested parties for its
second annual Fall Craft Bazaar to be located in the main park on
Saturday, December 5th from 9 AM to 2 PM.
Buy, sell, or trade your crafts, materials, and ideas with your
friends and neighbors. We would also like to extend an invitation
to all our community members who are Independent Consultants
or Small Business persons to join us as well and set up your
materials for display and meet new customers and friends within
our community.
There is no charge for vendor participation and everyone is
welcome and encouraged to attend.
Contact Cheryl at
928-308-6672 if you are interested in selling your merchandise.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
at Highland
Hills
Unfortunately a large chunk of the money and time is used restoring property destroyed by vandalism and graffiti.
Everything from trees and bushes being pulled out, limbs and branches broken off or otherwise damaged, picnic
tables being ripped out of the cement, lights being broken, sprinklers and related controls being broken also
causing huge water waste and a rise in monthly water costs to the community. Not forgetting the trash cans that
are set on fire or when the main park was set on fire, twice, resulting in the type of equipment currently in place.
This is all on top of the almost weekly graffiti that, once management is made aware of in most cases, is
temporarily addressed within 24 hours then fully repaired within a week or two, so our community does not have
the constant graffiti cover-up spot look.
The more you get involved and help prevent such
malicious activities, the less money will need to be
wasted in restoring destroyed and vandalized property.
No Shave November
Highland Hills Website
In an effort to raise cancer awareness, we hope that
everybody will participate in No Shave November.
Please donate the money you would typically spend
on shaving and grooming to education about cancer
prevention, saving lives, and aiding
those fighting the battle.
Checkout YouTube channels The Beard
Baron and Beardbrand for information
on caring for your beard.

Instructions
for cashier
Your Board of Directors, and neighbors, would like to
thank those of you who have so far taken part and
repainted your homes with the approved color palettes.
The difference is quite noticable and not only increases
your home’s curb appeal, but helps improve the
appearance of the neighborhood as a whole. We look
forward to continual progression as more homes are
repainted.
Weeds & Dead Plants & Leaves
A well landscaped yard is just as important to the look of
your home as a fresh coat of paint. As the temperatures
cool, please pull any weeds that sprouted up and
remove and replace any plants that did not survive
though the course of the hot summer. Please remember
to rake the leaves off of your yard as they start to fall.
