• Employees of the SI Advance, their family members and the employees
of our promotional partners, Apple Metro & Snug Harbor C.C.are
ineligible. • Open to legal U.S. residents as of date of entry.
• To enter, you must neatly color, with crayons only, the Dickens’
scene from “A Christmas Carol” pictured in this entry form. Entries
will be judged on neatness and color combinations. Then winners
will be selected at random from all eligible finalists.
• All entries must be submitted on an official Applebee’s / Snug Harbor /
Advance entry blank, also available at the Advance, 4th floor (marketing)
950 Fingerboard Road or the SI MALL or on line at silive.com
• The form must arrive at an Island Applebee’s, Chevys location or at
the Advance building by MAIL no later than 5 PM on Thurs., DEC. 22,
DO NOT DROP off your entries at the Advance building.
• PRIZE winners will be announced in the Advance on or about Dec. 27,
‘05 and notified by phone or mail.
•. Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, postage due, garbled, or
incompletely received, for any reason, will not be eligible.
• One entry per person, per scene. Remember, there will be 2 other
chances to win, because there will be two more Dickens’ scenes
which will appear in the Advance on Sunday Dec. 11 & Dec. 18
• The Advance, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any
person tampering with the entry process or otherwise in violation with
the rules. It further reserves the the right to cancel, terminate or modify
any promotion not capable of completion as planned.
• Only one prize given per family or household.
• Income and other taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
• Subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void outside
the U.S., in Puerto Rico, and where prohibited.
• The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
• No substitutions for prizes except by the Advance, Applebees or Snug
Harbor in which a prize of equal or greater value will be substituted.
• Dickens’ Festival - 4 tickets: value = $40 And, 4 tickets to “Oliver”
show = $28. Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar or Chevys Fresh
Mex dinner values = $100 or $60. SI Advance umbrella & sweatshirt
retail value = $35.
• All entries become the property of the Advance and Applebee’s/ Chevy’s
and will not be acknowledged or returned.
• All decisions of the judges are final.
• Acceptance of prize constitutes consent to use winners’ names and likeness for editorial, advertising and publicity purposes, without further
compensation; winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility
and liability/publicity release. Affidavits and releases must be returned
within 14 days of attempted notification or an alternate winner may be
chosen. If a minor wins a prize, it will be awarded to his or her parent or
legal guardian who must execute the necessary affidavit and release.
