Aunt Rhodie's Appetite Skit Auditions and Props Needed!
The band is in need of the following props for a piece the beginning band will be performing in the spring. Before
I purchase them, I wanted to see if any families would be willing to lend them to the band for the rest of the
school year. I would keep them safely in the band room :) We need the following items: Cane, Apron, Rubber
Chicken, Chef's Hat, Bird's Beak Mask. Thanks for your help!
Also attached is the Skit for "Aunt Rhodie's Appetite." Fifth grade band students have been invited to audition
for the following roles: Narrator (not memorized), Aunt Rhodie (memorized), Gray Goose (memorized) and Pierre
(memorized and in a french accent). Also, one fourth grade band member, whose parents are willing to purchase
a rubber chicken (I saw 21" ones on Amazon for $8!), can play the comedic role of rubber chicken (no lines
involved).
Students interested in auditioning for the play should choose a part they would like to audition for and practice
reading the lines at home. The audition (students can read from the skit for the audition) will be held
on Tuesday, February 17th at 9:10am-9:40am in the Mini Aud
Skits will be given out to interested students during their Full Band class sometime soon.
Guitarist Needed for Spring Concert
I am in need of a guitarist for one piece on our spring concert. If you play guitar or your child plays guitar and
you are interested in performing one piece with us in the spring, please let me know! We would love to have a
parent or student join us!
Thank you for your help and support of the
DOES Band program!
