Equal Fun For Everyone
With your child’s best interest in mind,
parents are asked not to attend their
child’s class unless invited by the instructor.
The quality of instruction has often
been affected by parent and/or sibling
distractions. It is of equal importance that
children have quality time with their peers.
Our instructors welcome the opportunity to
discuss concerns with parents before or after
class, time permitting.

The Memorial Tree & Bench program was developed by Crete Park District as a means
of remembering loved ones, friends, or special events. Persons or organizations can
donate money for the purchase of a tree to be planted in a park or a park bench.
Under the Crete Park District Memorial Tree program, the Crete Park District plants
a 2” - 3” caliper tree at one of our parks, where it is needed the most, unless a specific
park is requested. Shade trees include species such as oak, maple, linden, and pear.
Evergreen trees include pine and spruce. Other trees are available by request. The trees
will be planted either in the spring or fall of each year as weather permits, depending
on the species of tree. Cost for a Tree Memorial including purchase, delivery, installation
and upkeep is $250. Cost of Memorial Bench is $600. Please call us at 672-6996 for
information on purchasing a tree or bench.
Crete Park District promotes the concept of “Equal fun for everyone.” Participants are
expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times. Crete Park District behavior
guidelines have been developed to help make the programs safe and enjoyable for
everyone.
1. Participants must show respect to all participants and staff.
2. Participants must refrain from using foul language or discussing inappropriate topics.
3. Participants must show respect for equipment, supplies, and facilities.
4. Crete Park District staff reserves the right to dismiss participants whose behavior is
unacceptable, threatens or endangers others or themselves.
Who is a Nonresident & what is a Nonresident Pass?
Crete Park District is comprised of the Village of Crete only. Crete Township, Monee,
Steger and Beecher do not pay taxes to the Crete Park District. (To confirm your
residency, you must check your tax bill or your voters registration card. Crete Park District
does have a map of all homes within the District and can help you!) The Nonresident
Pass was designed for those who participate in several of the District programs but do
not live inside the District. If you purchase the Nonresident pass, you receive all of the
benefits of a Crete Park District Resident and pay Resident rates. The cost is $175 for one
year and is good for your entire family!

Nothing ruins a good program quicker...
than waiting until the last minute to register. There is a point where if the
minimum number of participants is not met, the program will be canceled.
Registering on the day of or the day before the program will not save it. Please
register five business days before the program/event to avoid disappointment.
Classes may be combined and times modified to facilitate better programs.
Park Watch:
We need your help in keeping our parks safe, clean and
FREE of vandalism. If you find broken equipment or have any other safety
concerns about our park sites or facilities, please contact our Main Office at 708672-6969. If you see vandalism occurring in the parks, please contact the Crete
Police Department by calling 708-672-0911. The park district is committed to
providing a safe place for recreational activities and prefers to enhance the
quality of our parks rather than replace vandalized equipment. Thank You!
Volunteer Soccer Coaches
Thanks to all those who go over and above to make our kids
and programs BETTER! We are grateful for your service and your
time and look forward to working with you again very soon.
Birthday Parties!
Be part of your child’s memories instead of the person stuck in the kitchen! We know you want your
Princess or Prince to have the party of her dreams
and your Superhero to have memories to last a
lifetime, but who has time for all the planning?
WE DO! Make your child’s next birthday party a
memorable one!

Jazz Funk - new!!
Students will work on Jazz techniques and
choreography. Jazz dance has a rhythmical
quality and is often accompanied by pop music.
Jazz Dance uses strong, clean body movements,
including body isolations and contractions. Jazz
will use many elements of ballet technique, but
include new styles such as having commercial
influence of the Hip Hop dance. Jazz Funk, also
called Street Jazz, borrows a lot of movement
from other dance styles. It wraps into a funky
style that is both fun and expressive. Jazz Funk
is a dance style of the body and mind. It can be
lyrical in the sense of emotional interpretation.
Come and let Jazz Funk tell a story with your
body!

2016-2017
Structured play promotes imagination, allows for exploration, promotes the
lengthening of the attention span, decreases stress, allows for role play, and
encourages language and vocabulary development. The goal of the Crete
Park District Preschool is to provide a carefully planned environment that
will enable young children to play with the encouragement of creativity and
exploration. Our program is designed to assist in the development of the whole
child, emotional, social, physical and intellectual, through structured play.

Shelter Rental
Instead of spending the money to rent a tent and planning all the entertainment,
come to the park! Two shelters are available in Crete
Park, 515 First Street and two
shelters are also available at
Heritage Park, 1550 Sangamon Street. There is plenty
of room for the kids to run
and play and adults love the
relaxing atmosphere, too.
Alcohol is not allowed in the park
areas. All fees are nonrefundable.
(The playgrounds are not part of
any rental. These are public parks
and will be used by the public
during your rental.)
Field Rental
This field rental is just for fun and must be combined with
a shelter rental. It doesn’t include lining, lights or base
rental and fee is for a 2 hour block. (Special arrangements
must be made if you need a formal field set.) Renter must
provide nets/bases unless otherwise arranged with the District. For team sport field rentals and tournament rentals,
contact Andy Biesterfeld at (708)672-6996. We want to
keep our fields in great condition for everyone, therefore,
in case of inclement weather, Crete Park District Maintenance Department will have the final judgment call on
field playability.
Historic Bandstand Rental
If you’re looking for a small romantic place to
hold your wedding, you should come see one

was built in 1913 and is surrounded by beautiful
oak trees. A beautiful walkway among huge
oak trees lead the way to a place where memories have been made for decades. The rental
