Autumn 2015 - Renovations
The Waldhotel National is looking towards
the future by investing millions of francs
in its facilities: by the end of November,
renovations costing some 2.1 million
francs will be complete. In addition to a
complete overhaul of the lobby and bar
areas, 16 rooms are being renovated
and four new, spacious suites are being
added. To keep up with price pressures
and our competition, the four-star
superior Waldhotel National has invested
about 20 million francs in its facilities in
the past seven years.
The situation in the tourism and catering industries since the Swiss franc was allowed
to float freely against the Euro continues
unabated. Potential guests are demanding
more value for their money while competition
among hoteliers and restaurateurs continues to increase. The four-star superior Waldhotel National is once again going on the
offensive to deliver the kinds of experiences
our guests demand.

During this latest renovation phase, our entire
lobby area is being renovated and furnished
in warm, tasteful colours. A new atmospheric
lighting concept is also being created with the
latest in LED technology. Much to the delight
of the many smoking aficionados, the smokers’ lounge adjacent to our traditional hotel
bar is also being renovated and enlarged.
In addition to the renovations in the lobby
area, several rooms in the east wing are
being transformed into suites with balconies facing to the south-east; another 16
double rooms are also being fully renovated. The new suites will be 58 m² with two
bathrooms, with each having a bathtub and
shower, and connecting doors to the adjacent room. As in our lobby, the latest LED
technology is being used to create a charming rustic style in the suites.

Welcome to your own personal time out! Treat

and relaxing hours in the Aqua Silva spa after an
eventful day in the mountains, a stressful week
at work, or just because. What’s available?
An indoor pool, a fitness room, a steam bath,
a sauna, herbal treatments, and luxurious
showers. After a sauna session in the one-ofa-kind Kelo outdoor sauna, you can even cool
off in the snow.
Children can use the swimming pool for fun
and games from 3.00 to 5.30 pm each day;
outside these times, the pool is available for
laps and relaxing.
Start off with a body wrap of your choice at
temperatures from 40 to 45°C and 90% humidity. The seraglio was the private area for
the Ottoman sultan and his wives.
Spa Salus peaceful oasis for adults
The Spa Salus extends the overall feel-good
atmosphere at Waldhotel National by more
than 1'100 sqm. Dive into this unique sensory experience, shed the worries of modern
life, and return back to nature. Clear water,
mountain herbs, and the interplay of stone
and wood add to the feel-good atmosphere.
Unwind and recharge your batteries.
Enjoy a 30 minute treatment in a heated cabin
for two as the body wraps with different effects
help you relax.
The wraps can help detoxify your body,
cleanse your skin, soothe pain, warm your

your sense of well-being. After the seraglio

Sackmann’s culinary career began at Hotel
Traube Tonbach in Germany’s Black Forest
region. He then spent two years working
with Henry Levy at Berlin Maître, attended
master chef training in Baden-Baden, worked
at Brenner’s Park Hotel, and then two years
at the Aubergine with Eckart Witzigmann. In
1988, Jörg Sackmann took over the kitchen
at his family’s Hotel Sackmann in Baiersbronn,
earning his first Michelin star in 1995 and a
second in 2013.

Luxurious alpine atmosphere with refined
style: the Chesa Silva was added in
2010 and offers 45 modern rooms and
suites decorated in cosy and warm oak
and slate to offer a modern contrast.

The beautiful and harmonious atmosphere is crowned by the fantastic views of the
majestic scenery of the Arosa mountains.
P.S. You can walk straight out onto the
slopes and winter hiking trails from the
front door of Chesa Silva.

Rooms at the Waldhotel
The 59 guest rooms are fitted with a great
attention to detail in local Arven pine; some
of them are quite large thanks to the age of
the building. The cosy warm ambience combined with the personal touch of the hotel
help make guests feel right at home in our
rooms. Gorgeous, large balconies invite you
to bask in the sunlight, right in the comfort of
your home away from home.
In the east wing, you can book one of 16
new doubles and 4 new suites with corner balconies, all fitted in Arven pine and
renovated in autumn 2015. A new lighting
concept with warm colours, oak floors, and
Arven pine panelling provide perfect symbiosis of comfort and fine style. All 20 Arven
rooms can be connected to provide plenty
of room for families or other gatherings.
All of the rooms at the Waldhotel and the
Chesa Silva feature a bathtub or shower,
toilet, TV, radio, telephone, safe, bathrobe,
slippers, and a hairdryer. Free Wi-Fi throughout the facility and fruit and bottled water
on each floor enhance the luxury of your
holiday.

the Arosa JUNIOR Club. You’re going to
remember your exciting, action-packed
adventures in our mountains for a long
time! The Arosa JUNIOR Club children’s
programme offers many varied adventures ranging from visits to the fire brigade or police station or “just” painting,
crafts, hide and seek, playing catch, exploring, listening to stories, etc.
