Why technical integration?
1st Most of PT users ride more than one transport mode.
(43% of daily trips on PT are multimodal trips).
Users’ Quality perception depends on the quality of the whole system and ITS
is, nowadays, a key aspect on it.
Multimodal real time information is a high value information that demand
coordination and ITS developments. This could be carried out by a PTA.

Why technical integration?
2nd ITS helps to improve modal and fare integration.
Increase the flexibility in fare policy
A global view allows to harmonized the technical
development among different transport modes.
New ticketing system. BIT project
The CRTM defines, develops and documents
funtional and security requiremetns
for "contactless“ ticketing system (BIT).

SECURITY PROTOCOLS
Every application and hardware that will be part of
the system is tested in CDC (standardizations and
validation center) for approval.
When approved, CDC signs electronically the new
software which ensures funtionality and security of
the ticketing system.
This represents Universal Smart Ticketing System.

Suburban buses ITS modernitation Plan
In the field of ITS, CRTM requires to suburban buses operators in next years that:
Automatic Vehicle Location Solutions (AVL) will be implemented
Ticketing systems will be adapted to contactless card

Integrate all those systems in a Local and Regional Control Center (CCI/CITRAM)
