kinds of marking requirements. Initially it focused on high quality Marking Tools such
as Interchangeable Steel Types, Punches, Numerators and Customized Stamps. The
company has its headquarters in Pune and these Marking Tools were sold in India
through a team of dedicated Sales Engineers. These Marking Tools were initially
sourced locally in India.

MARKING TOOLS
Marks Pryor Marking Technology makes use of the latest state of art technology for
manufacturing a variety of Marking Tools viz. Pryor Steel Types, Punches, Automatic
Numbering Heads, Engraved Packaging Types and Logotype Marking Dies. These are
manufactured from quality tool steel and are hardened and tempered to withstand wear
and give a long life. They are ideal for long production runs with minimum machine
down-time.
HYDRAULIC AND PNEUMATIC ROLL MARKING MACHINES
These machines are fully tooled up to suit specific customer requirements for marking
on the periphery of cylindrical or conical components such as engine valves, shock
absorbers, gears, flanges, shells, shafts, etc. Marks Pryor offer a package deal to
customers comprising of Roll Marking Machines along with Marking Tools and
accessories such as fixtures for locating and clamping the components to be marked.
NUMBERING HEADS & SPECIAL ENGRAVED DIES
Range of numbering heads for quick, easy serial number marking. For use either by
hand and hammer or mounted in marking machines / presses. Manual units allow the
inscription to be rapidly changed to any value and locked in position. Automatic
indexing units allow fast and accurate serial numbering with the minimum of effort.
Specially manufactured wheels available to provide alphanumeric characters and
symbols as well as 0-9 and a blank space.
PRYOR are master engravers of steel and offer a wide range of dies to suit most
industrial applications and the many different materials that require marking. Cigarette
Printing Dies High speed printing of brand inscriptions and codes onto cigarette papers
during manufacture. Roller Dies For reduced marking loads, suiting thin walled items,
or continuous processes (eg. cable, tube and bar manufacture). Embossing and
Debossing Dies Upstanding (embossed) or sunken (debossed) characters, logos and
decorative reliefs in thin material.

DOT PEEN MARKING MACHINES
Dot Markers are highly configurable and fully programmable marking machines
suitable for use in all industrial environments. The marking is carried out with a single
conical tip stylus which indents the data to be marked on the component and produces
a stress free mark. 2D Matrix Codes can also be marked. They can be used as standalone machines or they can be integrated with production lines. Standard rotary
fixtures are available for marking on the periphery of cylindrical or conical components.
Automated Z-axis feature can be used for marking on stepped components. These
machines have RS232 ports for easy connectivity.

AUTOSCRIBING MACHINES
The head consists of an X-Y slide arrangement incorporating Linear Motion Guides for
rigidity and ease of movement. Position sensors on both sides give a fixed Datum from
which positional accuracy is maintained using Ball Screws driven by Stepper Motors. The
mark is produced by pneumatically pressing a stylus into the work piece to scribe each
character. To ensure stability and a low bending moment, the Pneumatic cylinder is built
into the Y-Side. Controller contains the microprocessor and a 14 line by 30 character
liquid crystal display. The size of the display does not limit the marking area as it can be
scrolled over a large area. The unit is user friendly as at all stages, there are options
listed on the screen. Options are selected by pressing the appropriate function key,
capital letter or cursor and enter keys. There is a latching emergency stop button on the
controller which, when pressed, removes power from the system. Lot of options in
window sizes available for this range, widely used for marking VIN on sheetmetal
components like car frames etc.

LASER MARKING MACHINES, 2D MARKING & SCANNING
Laser Marking Machines can be used for marking alpha numeric data, logos and 2D
Data Matrix Codes on hardened and finished components. Even fragile, thin walled
components can be marked as the laser beam burns and vaporizes the material and
produce a permanent mark on the component. We offer lot of options from lamp
pumped systems to diode to fiber to co2 systems. These are available in different
marking fields. We also provide protective enclosure for the laser which protects the
operator from laser hazards.
2D Data Matrix Coding, the international standard for identification and tracking of
products and their component parts, is widely used by the aeronautical and spacecraft
industry for traceability. These 2D Data Matrix Codes are also now being introduced in
India in the Automobile and Engineering Industry. Absolute Vision Ltd., UK, a
subsidiary of Pryor, manufacture these 2D Data Matrix Code Readers. Marks Pryor
can now offer a Total Solution to customers ranging from marking of data to reading of
2D Data Matrix Codes.

MARK & VERIFY
The concept outlined below details an Integrated Direct Part Marking &
Verification Station designed to mark a Data Matrix Code and human readable
information on the defined components using a Precision Controlled Dot-Peen
PRYOR Marking machine fitted with a fixed mount camera system. A fixed mount
camera will be mounted onto the Solenoid housing to provide verification on a Data
Matrix Code upon completion of the mark, without having to move the
component. This will enable the focal length of the camera to be automatically adjusted
using the electric z axis and the field of view will be adjustable via the X and
Y axis movement. The verification software will be controlled using a PC. The PC
interface is a single user application, which provides the user with clear, concise
feedback of the verification cycle. The user interface is provided by the PRYOR
Mark2Verify software, which will allow the operator to receive instructions on current
operations. The information can be entered manually, automatically by keyboard
or a bar code reader.

CUSTOMISED MARKING STATIONS
Marks Pryor has in-house facilities for design, development and manufacture of
workstations which can be integrated with customer manufacturing and assembly lines.
These workstations are PLC controlled and communication with customer SAP
system/ Host Computer can be done through RS232 ports.
Fully tooled up automatic workstations have been designed and manufactured for
multiple-position marking of Main Bearing Caps and Cylinder Blocks on Automobile
Assembly Lines. Also multipin marking heads have been designed to reduce the cycle
time. VIN marking stations, etc. Online ofline marking stations along with material
handeling systems like manipulators, conveyors etc can also be supplied.
