the work is very similar to "Ostend" by G.Bertrand ( 1949) from the Alla &
Bénédict Goldschmidt Collection , in the Royal Museums of Fine Art of Belgium , Brussels ( see catalogue p. 34-35). Léon Spilliaert ( 1881 -1946) did also some watercolors in this same spirit of geometrical art though the beginning of the XXth century!
