EXECUTIVE CENTRAL leadership | SALES | STRATEGY | WOMEN WOMEN CENTRAL IMPACT Mastery Program women leading | IMPACT Mastery Program The IMPACT Mastery Program forms part of a diverse suite of leadership and career programs designed to address the needs of professional women. The program is action-focused, facilitating personal achievement within and for the organisation. The IMPACT Mastery Program is structured flexibly and is delivered in a six-month time frame, using the Women Leading with IMPACTTM model. A variety of media are used to showcase inspirational men and women, and share contemporary ideas from Australian and international thought leaders. Women Leading with IMPACTTM IMPACT has evolved out of the collective experience of Executive Central Women Leading coaches, and is aimed at unlocking potential and identifying opportunities for women on a leadership journey. We aim to inspire and transform, sharing the skills, knowledge, mind-sets and tools for success. At the centre of Women Leading with IMPACTTM is the IMPACT strengths-based leadership model. The IMPACT leadership model is informed by current research on management and leadership. Executive Central is engaged in research programs in conjunction with Monash University and The University of NSW, to build knowledge specific to the needs of the Australian leadership and coaching community. THE STRENGTHS BASED APPROACH The foundation of the work we do is unlocking potential and developing strengths. Strengths Finder is a wonderful self-assessment online inventory through which the participant is able to identify their talents and strengths, and then in consultation with the coach, formulate plans to mobilize those talents and strengths for maximum impact in the organisation and marketplace. People who do the Strengthsfinder work find it inevitably find it to be an affirming and empowering experience. Prior to the program, participants are provided with the Strengths Finder 2.0 code to individually complete the Strengths Finder Survey. They then receive a comprehensive Strengths report. We explore with the participants individually what these results mean, looking at: THE MODEL: The strengths model and how it applies to them as individuals, to their teams and other people they work with. THEMSELVES: Their own individual talents and strengths. THE OPPORTUNITIES: How they can enhance their ability to create their own opportunities and possibilities to lead. A multi-media approach incorporates links and video to provide stimulus and inspiration. leadership | SALES | STRATEGY | WOMEN IMPACT Mastery Program The IMPACT Mastery Program WORKSHOP THEMES Each of the workshops explores a theme as provided by the IMPACT model. The workshops are action-focused, delivering practical leadership tools and strategies that facilitate immediate change. Participants enjoy the latest thinking from around the world on these leadership topics, through stimulating multi- media materials. The workshops are very interactive and participants are challenged to try out new behaviours and continue them back in the work environment. At Women Leading we do not believe that the topics covered in Leadership Programs should necessarily be any different for women than for men: we all, for example need to learn about networking. However we would argue that there are benefits of establishing stand-alone women’s leadership programs, with a focus on the issues and strategies that have been researched as being pertinent to women. Networking is a good example, as historically women have struggled to participate in an activity dominated by masculine approaches. The IMPACT Mastery Program topics include: POWER: Historically women have an uneasy relationship with power – having and using power. We challenge you to investigate your relationship with power, and play with the idea of being a powerful person. Use of the StrengthsFinder model will help you identify and develop your own unique source of power. After a brief review of the model, the focus is on putting it into practice: owning your power, navigating power and driving performance. You will look at creating the conditions for individual and organisational creativity, and managing for creativity and innovation, whether from the perspective of the manager or the managed. What does an innovative culture look like and how well does our organisational culture support the innovation process? Who can we look to as role models for creativity and innovation? ACHIEVEMENT: What are the mechanics of Achievement? You need to know where you want to get to, have a strong desire to get there and take considered risks to get what you want. You rarely get to achievement without stepping out of your comfort zone to grasp opportunities. We work to get clear on what it is you want to achieve, setting clear goal posts and planning to create a support team. COMMUNICATION: Communication is always a core competency for leadership. Communication skills range from the ability to build effective interpersonal relationships to the ability to make an impact with presentations and leadership presence. We unpack the skills of communication, looking at leadership presence and influencing skills, use of language and powerful presentations. We use examples of highly successful presenters to unpack what makes them successful. There will be the opportunity for practicing these skills in a lively and interactive environment, and then carrying this development back in the workplace. leadership | SALES | STRATEGY | WOMEN IMPACT Mastery Program PERSONAL BRANDING: Personal Branding is less about appearances and more about substance. It’s about self-identity, self-efficacy, finding your unique voice and feeling comfortable in your own skin. It’s about understanding your strengths, and about the self-management aspects of emotional intelligence. We explore this idea in detail and work with our own personal brand. MENTORING: Mentoring is a powerful strategy for leadership development, both as a mentee and as a mentor. Mentoring is distinct from coaching and from sponsoring. We unpack the women with significant organisational responsibility, e.g. directors, executives, emerging female executive talent and recently promoted female managers. NETWORKING AND CONNECTIVITY: We help you build practical skills in connecting and collaborating with others and creating networks. Connectivity is essential to “getting things done” within, between and beyond organizations. We engage the client in a critical reflection on emotional intelligence, leveraging strengths and remediating gaps that might be impacting on performance. We share insights and develop plans together for networking. TENACITY: The principle of Tenacity is best reflected in the words resilience and optimism. Put simply, resilience is the ability to ‘bounce back’ and keep going in the face of challenges. We work with clients on resilience skills. We challenge mindsets that prevent clients from moving forward and help them sustain optimism based on a strong identity and self-belief.
