9BBS ColfTournamcnt Saturday July 14th, 2012 1:30 PM Shotgun Start Buffalo Run CoifCourse 15700 E 112th Avenue Commerce City, CO Despite the long-standing Nebraska/Colorado rivalry, there is a strong presence of Husker pride In the state of Colorado. Coloradans for Nebraska is a non-profit organization aiming to provide information and support to these individuals and most importantly, give students the opportunity to attend Nebraska universities. The earliest evidence of the existence of the Denver Chapter of the University of Nebraska Alumni Association (now known as Coloradans for Nebraska) is a listing of Edmund J. Churchill, '85, as president in 1913. Since the early 1950hs CFN has participated in many functions like a Founders' Day dinner in February or March, summer family picnics, a party the night before the Colorado-Nebraska game every other year when it was played in Boulderr Alumni Night at the Rockies and special performances of the Scarlet and Cream. In the 196O'sT biennial migrations to Lincoln aboard the Denver Zepher were planned for the ColoradoNebraska game. Beginning in 1989, CFN began funding scholarships for graduates of a Colorado High school wishing to attend the University of Nebraska. Currently, there are 1,200 families registered and supporting Colorado's chapter of Husker Nation. For the 2010-2011 school year, enough money was raised to grant S1,500 scholarships to 28 well-rounded Colorado students; for 2011- 2012, that number has exceeded 30.
