MIDWEST SENIOR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
CRC members helped CITA win the USTA/Midwest Section
Senior Team Championships for the second consecutive year!
2011 was the first CITA championship. Play was May 12-13 at
Michigan State University in Lansing, MI. They competed
against the other 14 districts in USTA Mid-west. This competition is an annual event.
YOUTH TEAM TENNIS
CRC high school volunteers helped 45 10-and under players
learn the basics of tennis and start competing. They played
USTA Youth Team Tennis on Sundays at the Todd Witsken
Tennis Center at Carmel High School on Sundays in April and
May.
The league was sponsored by Hamilton County Community
Tennis Association as part of USTA’s push to adapt tennis to
young players by shortening the courts, using decompressed
balls and making drills more kid-friendly.

break state records in her age division, and she succeeded six
times: 50 fly, 100 fly, 200 fly, 100 IM, 200 IM, 400 IM.
Congrats to Shawn Patrick Heffern (Sheila’s son) for being
the only Indiana high school player to be on a state championship football and basketball team in the same school year. Karl

PRO SHOP
Welcome back to the 2012-2013 tennis season. We have one
new line in the pro shop. The company is Spanx. I’m sure most
of you have heard of it. They have added a few active wear
pieces.
SEASONALS: 2012-2013
Present seasonal court holders can now renew their reservations
for the 2012-13 season. On May 1 seasonal court reservations
for next year can be made by all members.
Please read the following information carefully before coming
to the Club to renew your present court:
* Every player playing on a seasonal court MUST
be a member of Carmel Racquet Club. A list of
names of members playing on seasonal courts
must be submitted to the Club by September 4.
We are currently stocking two new items. The power skort has
“Slim –X” built in to flatten the tummy. It provides ample coverage for the “derriere” and allows for easy movement.
The second item is the power pant. It has the “Slim-X” fabric
for the tummy, flared leg and back seams to visually slim the
silhouette. Both items come in black only and are moisture
wicking fabric.
*Holders of seasonal reservations will pay $1 per
court hour less than the regular court rate for all
reservations. Members will pay $2 per court hour
less if full payment is received by June 1, 2012.
Please stop in and check them out.
We hope you enjoy your shopping experience at the Carmel
Racquet Club. Special orders are always welcome.
* A $50 per court hour non-refundable deposit is
payable at the time of reservation.
Rosie
* Your group needs to identify one person who is
responsible for collecting the money and sending
it to the Club when the full payment is collected.
Separate payments for portions of the seasonal
cannot be put on your house charge account.
You may either split your payments or pay in full:
Split payments:
* Half the total fee (plus the already paid deposit)
is due on September 15.
* The balance is due December 31, 2012

Full payment:
* Pay the full balance by June 1 and save an
additional $1 per court hour.
Reserving a seasonal court is the best way to make sure the day
and time you want to play is always going to be open during the
indoor season. If you would like any additional information
