Mutton Busting is Back!
Coloring Contest
Tryouts July 1st , signup from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, buck at
6:45 pm, $5 ENTRY FEE.
3 age groups: 4 & 5 years, 6 & 7 years and 8 years. Ages
at date of event with a weight limit of 70 lbs. Helmets are
required (bring one if you can) and vests are highly recommended. 10 finalists in each age group will receive special
Mutton Busting t-shirts and advance to the finals to be held
during the rodeo performance each night when 1st , 2nd and
3rd places will be determined in each age group. 1st place in
the finals will receive a trophy, 2nd & 3rd will receive rosette
ribbons.

We are having a coloring contest for three age groups: 4 and
under, 5 - 7 and 8 - 10.
Go to http://daviscountyfair.org to get the picture for your
age group or you may pick up pictures at CJ’s Restaurant.
Take it to CJ’s between June 10 and June 25. No entries
before June 10 please. One winner from each age group will
be picked on June 26. The winners will each receive a gift
certificate from CJ’s and four tickets to the Rodeo.
Pictures will be displayed at CJ’s Restaurant from June 10
to June 25. All pictures will also be displayed during the
Rodeo.

Area quilters were invited to enter a quilt block contest.
After purchasing a $5 tax-deductible packet of fabric, blocks
were made by contestants. The blocks will be on display
during the fair, after which the blocks will be made into a
beautiful quilt to be raffled at next year’s Davis County Fair.
Be sure to see the blocks while you are at the Fair!
QUILT BLOCK THEME: “STARS”
Rules: (read these as they change every year)
1. Each contestant is receiving a packet containing 5 fabrics.
Add no other fabrics.
2. Each block must be 12 ½” x 12 ½ “unfinished or 12” x 12”
finished. Your block will not be judged if the size is incorrect.
3. Blocks can be hand pieced or machine made. All Blocks
should be Stars. NO appliqué designs.
4. The contest is limited to the first 45 people. Only one
block per person. Blocks will be judged on creativity, best
use of fabrics provided and workmanship.
5. All blocks will become the property of the Davis County
Agricultural Society Inc.
6. For judging purposes, do not attach finished blocks to any
backing.
• Daily winners drawn at 6:00 pm Wednesday
though Saturday.
• Winner names will be posted at the Administration Office.
• Person named on the membership ticket must claim the
prize.
• Prizes must be claimed before the drawing occurring on
the following day or the prizes will be put back into the
drawing for new winners.
• Cleanup drawing for all unclaimed prizes on
Sunday at 4:30 pm.
• You must be present to win at the Sunday drawing.

Inspection for sheep still require clinical inspection by an
accredited veterinarian within 14 days prior to date of entry
to exhibition grounds.
• All sexually intact sheep must be identified with an
individual Scrapie Flock of Origin identification tag and
this number must be listed on the Certificate of Veterinary
Inspection.
• Any evidence of club lamb fungus, ringworm, draining
abscesses, foot rot, sore mouth, or any other contagious
disease will eliminate the animal from the show.

1. Entries open to Davis County and surrounding areas.
2. All articles entered must be the work of the exhibitor; completed since Aug. 1,
2015 and shown in clean, sanitary condition. All entries in Divisions H and I must
have a processed date.
3. To pre-enter, send complete list of exhibit items, division and class numbers,
your name and address and mail to Davis County Fair, P.O. Box 23, Bloomfield, IA
52537. Entry list should be postmarked no later than 7/1/2016.
4. All articles must be in the Fair Hall by the time entries close.
5. Each exhibitor having articles in the Art Hall must purchase $1 exhibitor ticket.
6. Entry fee is $3 per exhibitor for first 10 entries, $2 for each 10 additional items
(not per entry).
7. If there is a class for an article exhibited, it must be entered in that class.
8. If there are 4 alike items in one miscellaneous class, a new class will be created.
9. NOTE: Some classes will have the letters A, J or P following the class number.
“A” indicates Amateur. “J” indicates Junior age 15 and under. “P” indicates
Professional (those individuals having a Fed. Tax ID number). Whatever letter(s)
follow the class number indicates which group of exhibitors may enter. In a case
where more than one letter follows the class number, the exhibitors will be judged
separately according to their classification, A, J or P. Unless noted, all other
classes will be considered Amateur.
10. No premium will be awarded to any article not completed or considered to be
unworthy by the judge, even in the case of only one entry in that particular class.
11. Exhibitor will only be paid on item placing the highest in the class if that
exhibitor has placed in the class more than once.
12. Premium money for Divisions H - O may be picked up in the secretary’s office
after 12 P.M. on Thursday and must be picked up by 12 P.M. on Sunday.
13. The Art Hall will be open from Noon to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 10
p.m. Thursday thru Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
14. Articles must be removed from the building from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday,
