North-East Jamboree Lake George Jamboree
Good evening everyone (or maybe good morning or good night, depending on where on the globe
you might be camping when you get this).
First of all let’s give a huge welcome to our newest Wagon Masters, Joe & Marianne Zecca, and if
you want to drop them a note please do so at their E-mail: [email protected].
In August, 2016 we are going to the Adirondacks in New York State!
Joe, Myron, and Mikeee spent a few days in September up in the Lake George NY area (located in
the southeast part of the Adirondacks) and signed a deal with a campground to have the August 2016
Jamboree in the Lake George area - all the details are below. Joe & Marianne will be the Wagon
Masters for this Jamboree. Just talking about it at the last 2 Jamborees of the 2015 season has
already resulted in over 30 reservations! Many are making it their late summer full week vacation.
Please enjoy!
Joe / Marianne and Mikeee
We are having our jamboree at:
Lake George Escape Campground
175 E Schroon River Road
Diamond Point NY 12845
(518) 623-3207 and select Option #3 from the menu.
Please use Option #3 - Did I say please use Option #3
Please say you are with the North-East Truck Camping Jamboree group to get the negotiated
discount.
If you use option 1 – You will get someone at Corporate Headquarters down in Florida who has no
idea about the North-East Truck Camping Jamboree and our Jamboree coming to Lake George
Escape R/V Resort in August of 2016. Also you will not get the discount!
Actual Jamboree dates:
Arrive: Wednesday, August 24, 2016
Depart: Sunday, August 28, 2016
Also, many of us are staying the full week; if you care to join us here are the dates:
Arrive: Sunday, August 21, 2016
Depart: Sunday, August 28, 2016
Our discounted rate is $44.00 per night. You will get this rate whether you just go for the “Official
Jamboree” or whether you stay the whole week! This is for a Water/Electric/Sewer/Cable site. All
sites are long pull-thru, and are generally level.
The Campground has blocked off 50 sites for our group. Go to the website below to see where our
sites are. (Lower right hand corner of the map.)
http://www.lakegeorgeescape.com/the-park/resort-map/:
A – Most of “Spruce Street”
B – Most of “Balsam Boulevard”
C – Most of Laurel Lane
Joe & Marianne Zecca are in Site: 56
Mike & Cathie Tassinari is in Site: 20
Site: 18: will be set aside so we can set up two tents to host some of our events.
After these 50 sites are booked, the Campground will put you in sites as close as possible and you
will still get the negotiated discount.
The campground provides a free shuttle to Lake George Village. This shuttle can accommodate up
to 15 passengers. As you can imagine getting everyone into Lake George using just that 15
passenger shuttle bus will be impossible, so we are hoping to rent some type of alternative
transportation; we may have to charge a small fee per person to help pay for this alternative
transportation.
By going to the following website you can explore all the restaurants, attractions and events to be
found in the Lake George NY region: www.visitlakegeorge.com.
The Village has many restaurants (some with decks overlooking the lake). Lake George is great for
strolling, with the usual T-shirt and ice cream shops. You can rent a boat or go para-kiting over lake.
In 2015 the Village had fireworks over the lake every week, and we expect the same for 2016. The
campground has two pools and a beach. It also has inner tubes so that guests can float from a
launch point on the Schroon River to the campground beach. Did I mention that the campground has
a fully stocked bar and full time bartender on site?
Note:
A. Some of the reservationist at the Campground may not know of the $44.00 daily rate and you
may see the figure of $69.00 per night on your charge card. If that happens call the
Campground and ask for Marilee and she will correct the issue and give you a credit.
B. You will be asked for a $50.00 deposit to reserve your site. You may of course pay for the
entire time you are staying at the Campground.
Cancellation policy:
A. If you cancel your reservation 14 or more days prior to arrival, you will get your deposit back
minus a $25.00 cancellation fee.
B. The Campground, at its option will give you a credit of that cancellation fee ($25.00) towards a
future camping reservation or a refund to your credit card depending on the circumstances of
each individual.
Physical location of the Campground
If you were to go the Campground resort internet page, Lake George Escape CG will say they are in
Lake George NY, but your navigation system will not find 175 E Schroon River Road in Lake George.
The Campground is physically located at 175 E Schroon River Road in Diamond Point NY 12845.
The Campground is going to close in a few weeks but will be checking the phones from 9:00am to
11:00am weekdays and will get back to you.
Here are some of the things Joe & Marianne are thinking about!!!!
Mini Golf Tournament of some sort.
Boat tour of Lake George NY.
Tour of the Fort William Henry with a professional guide.
Micro beer/wine tasting. Those who choose to participate will be asked to bring something unique.
For the beer, we are looking for obscure labels.
Also some things Joe Z has planned have got to be kept under wraps LOL.
I want to thank Myron Robinson for taking these 17 below pictures for all of you to enjoy.
