Jared Ashling is the new Volunteer Coordinator/Library Horticulturist. As a student at the University of Minnesota, Jared developed and managed Cornercopia, a student organic farm. He also worked as an AmeriCorps Vista volunteer coordinator at Just Food in New York City, where he developed and coordinated the volunteer and internship programs. Most recently, Jared worked as a Zone Gardener at the Washington National Cathedral, where he was responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the educational gardens. 4 Brookside Gardens Xperience • Spring–Summer 2010 PROGRAM GUIDE Special Events B rookside Gardens is pleased to announce a new discount program for the Friends of Brookside Gardens (FOBG).
