Leave the Grand Canyon this morning and head to Page on
the edge of Lake Powell, a city created by the damming of the

D-4 • Lake Powell, AZ – Monument Valley - Bluff, UT
(280 km)
Leave for Monument Valley, where you will find yourself
surrounded by dark red hills. Visit of this imposing area also a
popular filming area for western movies. This 25 mile-long and
16-mile wide desert plain overflows with gigantic sandstone
monolithic structures rising high above the valley. Our advice:
Take a guided jeep tour with the Navajo Indians. Night in Bluff
at the Desert Rose Inn.
D-5 • Bluff, UT - Moab, UT (160 km)
Leave Monument Valley and continue north towards Moab.
Stop at Dead Horse Point, one of the most prominent points
on the Colorado River which is accessible by a trailhead.
Afternoon drive to Canyonlands National Park where you
will see this labyrinth of canyons scattered with sandstone
pinnacles. The view of the Colorado River is superb from
Desolation Point in the park. Overnight at the Aarchway Inn

Spend a day exploring Arches National Park, where you
can find over 2,000 natural arches of various shapes and
sizes resulting from the erosion of red and gold sandstone. Our
advice: Raft the Colorado River through Professor Valley: this
section of the river is great for families and fun for everyone.
D-7 • Moab, UT – Bryce Canyon, UT (430 km)
Visit of Bryce Canyon, one of the most fascinating natural
parks within the state of Utah. The Mormons discovered this
site in the 19th century. The dazzling shapes and shades of the
stone of memorable Pink Cliffs constantly vary from dusk till

Leave for the oldest park in Utah, Zion Canyon with its
cathedral-shaped rocks, some of which are more than 3,000

Continue to Colorado. Visit of Mesa Verde, a park devoted to
the archeological remains of the Ancestral Puebloan civilization
dating from the beginning of the Christian era. The park has
more than 4,000 dwellings, some in rocky alcoves high above
the canyons. The largest and most spectacular are around
Chaplin Mesa: Cliff Palace and Spruce Tree House, with a
group of cave dwellings. Overnight at the Far View Lodge in
Mesa Verde.
D-8 • Capitol Reef, UT between Moab and Byce
Leave for Capitol Reef. This is a 900-foot high rock barrier
extending 20 miles overlooking the Fremont River. The rocky
stratums were formed over 65 million years ago by the immense
amount of erosion from the Colorado Plateau. Overnight at
the Capitol Reef Resort.

This morning, head to Fort Laramie, a national historic site.
It was a 19th century trading post for furs, then an Army fort
and a convenient stopping point on the Oregon Trail to the
West Coast. Then see Mount Rushmore where the heads of
Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and T. Roosevelt are
sculpted in the granite rock before arriving in Rapid City for the

D-4 • Rapid City, SD - Sheridan, WY (400 km)
Leave this morning for Crazy Horse Memorial in the Black
Hills, the world’s largest mountain carving still in progress on
land considered to be sacred by the Sioux Nation. Once
finished, the head of the Crazy Horse statue will be 87 ft high,
larger than the heads of the four U.S. Presidents at Mount
Rushmore, each 60 ft high. Drive then to Badlands National
Park with its rich fossil beds and acres of sharply eroded
pinnacles and spires. Bison and bighorn sheep roam one of the
largest prairies in the United States. Stop to admire the scenery.

Morning drive through Bighorn National Forest in the Black

Leave Cody and start your visit to Yellowstone National

Discover the city of Banff, its cave and basin (visit possible),
Banff Springs, Mont Sulphur, Hoodoos. In the afternoon,
relax at Banff Hot Springs.
D-9 • Jasper, AB
Day devoted to the visit of Jasper in the Canadian Rockies. Visit
the picturesque town of Jasper, a UNESCO World Heritage
Site, followed by Jasper National Park with its canyons,
crystal clear lakes, waterfalls, peaks and forests. Take the Jasper
SkyTram for a breathtaking view of the park and the snowy
peaks . If time permits, take an excursion to Maligne Canyon.
D-12 • Banff, AB - Calgary, AB (125km)
Leave for Calgary. Make a stop at the 1988 Winter Games
Olympic Park. Visit the city center of Calgary, the Fort Calgary
occupied by the famous Mounties, Stampede Park, Heritage
Park historical old-west village, etc. Dinner and overnight in
Calgary at the Holiday Inn Calgary Macleod Trail South or
similar.

Free time before your flight.

Leave Jasper and start your way towards Lake Louise. Photo
stops at Sunwapta and Athabasca Falls. Continue along on
