Speech and Language Therapy Drop In
If you have any concerns about your pre-school child’s speech and
language skills and would like to speak to a speech and language therapist
about this, please feel free to “drop-in” to any of the sessions listed below.
Exploring Parenting
Come along to our new programme, available to all Worthing families
Would you like to learn more about parenting, for Children aged 0-11?
Come along to any of the sessions, no need to book.
(There are no crèche facilities available)
The therapist will listen to your concerns, carry out an informal assessment

Groups
Bubbles Play & Learn — A friendly Play and Learn Together session for
children (under 5), who would benefit from play in a small group, with
opportunities for parents to talk to an Early Years Advisor held on a Tuesday
1.00pm-2.30pm at Lyndhurst Road C&FC.
ADHD Parent Support Group – For parents of children of all ages. Runs
every other Tuesday at Maybridge from 12pm - 1pm.
Parents for Autism – Run by parents, the group is a chance to meet other
parents, share advice and support as well as hearing interesting speakers.
£1 donation to include refreshments. Held at Maybridge Community Church
from 7:30pm - 9:15pm on Monday 7th November. For further information

Umbrellas – A group for parent/carers of children with additional needs who
are in mainstream schools. Held at Durrington Community Centre starting on

are many ways that childcare costs can be reduced, including Free
Entitlement for some two year olds.

to us about the prospects available to gain valuable work experience
that will help build up your CV. Contact our Parent Volunteer

Work Experience
- Get a free Job Seekers Support Pack from any Children and
Family Centre. Local, recently advertised job vacancies can be found
at every centre.
Jobs
- Sometimes getting your finances in order can be stressful.
We can signpost you to the relevant agencies to support you whether
the issue is housing, tax credits, debt, or benefits. Free Entitlement
for two, three and four year olds can be complicated to understand we can help.
Money
Training - We can help you find courses on a variety of different
subjects including English, Maths and ESOL through Aspire.
Northbrook are also offering home learning courses on subjects such
as Autism, Customer Service, Business and Administration and
Nutrition and Health. Information about courses can be found in every
centres “courses” folder and in most cases courses are FREE!
Need Sexual Health Advice?
Sexual Health Worthing offers a wide range of services available
through walk in sessions and appointments. Services include: sexually
transmitted infection screening and treatment: pregnancy testing: free
condoms and emergency contraception.

Every Monday during term time we run supportive sessions which will help
parents make positive changes. This is an open group and will have a subject

A drop in Support group for women who have, or are experiencing domestic
abuse. (The is no crèche available, however if childcare is an issue please

Early Days and Infant Feeding– Antenatal infant feeding workshop run by
a Maternity Support Worker. For pregnant women between 28 and 34
weeks. Please speak to your midwife or a member of centre staff for more

Well Being Advisor – Come and speak to an Adur and Worthing Wellbeing
Advisor about losing weight, eating well, stopping smoking, getting more
active, managing stress and much more. Information line - 01903 221450.
Weaning talk at Maybridge CFC Centre - 1st Thursday of each month at
2.30pm (phone centre first to confirm).

baby weighed and measured, or to have a brief discussion with a member of

taster courses are also coming to Worthing!
Are you looking to improve your reading, writing, speaking and
listening skills in English? Then come along to this taster course
aimed at people who wish to live and work in the UK and wanting to
improve their English skills.
