Since the first factory was built in 1957 in Tokyo Japan, Shoei have manufactured the world’s finest quality safety helmets.

Q.R.S.A. (Quick Release Self-Adjusting)
BASE PLATE SYSTEM
CW-1 SHEILD
The all-new CW-1 shield offers greater vertical and peripheral vision than
ever before. In addition, the CW-1 shield protects SHOEI riders from 99% of
the sun’s damaging UVA and UVB rays, and our three-dimensional injectionmolding process ensures optically perfect, distortion free vision. Another
advantage is it comes with pins for SHOEI’s optional Pinlock system! Insert
the accessory Pinlock film to deliver fog-free vision in any conditions. The new
CW-1 Pinlock lens is 30% larger, and offers fog-free viewing to the very top of
the helmet’s larger eye port.
SHOEI’s Quick Release Self-Adjusting (QRSA) base plate system
includes a locking mechanism that allows you to change visors
faster than any other helmet available!
The QRSA maintains its predecessor’s easy-to-use features—
split-second visor release and attachment, and visor preset lever.
SHOEI’s new patented new spring-loaded technology featured in
the QRSA eliminates the need to adjust base plates for proper
sealing. Every time the shield is lowered, the spring-loaded base
plates pull the shield back to contact the window beading evenly,
ensuring a perfect wind and waterproof seal every time!
MULTI-CHANNEL VENTILATION SYSTEM
The X-Twelve features the most complex ventilation system
available in any helmet - five (5) intake and ten (10) exhaust vents,
making it the most aggressively ventilated helmet SHOEI has ever
produced. Wind tunnel testing identified the very best locations and
shapes of intake and exhaust ports to maximize airflow, including
the suction effect that’s created as low pressure air travels toward
the rear of the helmet. With this in mind, the X-Twelve features new
Side Extractor Vents developed by our MotoGP racing service to
help clear warm, humid air from the racer’s face.
AIM+ SHELL CONSTRUCTION (Snell M2010-Approved)
SHOEI’s unique AIM+ technology combines fibreglass with organic fibres
that are so strong they can only be cut with a laser. The end result is a
stronger, lighter shell that will absorb and distribute massive impact forces
safely and efficiently.

3D MAX DRY INTERIOR SYSTEM
The X-Twelve is equipped with a fully removable, washable, and replaceable 3D
Max Dry liner. SHOEI’s proprietary Max Dry material has been proven to absorb
and dissipate sweat twice as fast as traditional nylon interiors. In addition, the
X-Twelve’s interior components are three-dimensionally shaped to match the
contours of a rider’s head.

for easy removal by emergency medical

INTERIOR SYSTEM
The XR-1100 is equipped with a fully removable, washable, and
replaceable 3D center pad and multi-layer cheek pads. The XR-1100’s
3D center pad components are three-dimensionally shaped to match
the contours of a rider’s head. This 3D fitment allows us to provide a
helmet with an extremely comfortable fit, while maintaining the firm
hold that is necessary for distraction-free, high-speed riding. The XR1100’s multi-layer cheek pads are available in six different thicknesses
to allow riders to customize the fit of their new helmet. In addition,
the liner features eye-glass channels and an integrated neck pad.
SHELL-INTERGRATED SPOILER
New shell forming technology created during the development of SHOEI’s
groundbreaking VFX-W motocross helmet has allowed SHOEI to eliminate
the need for the plastic Aero Wing that was found on the XR-1000. This new
technology has allowed SHOEI to incorporate the aerodynamic advantages of a
spoiler into the shell of the helmet, while maintaining consistent shell thickness
to guarantee perfect strength and weight. This shell-integrated spoiler works
to reduce lift during high-speed riding, just like the spoiler on a sports car.
DUAL-LAYER EPS LINER
Dual layer EPS foam liner offers vastly enhanced safety. Increased
Impact absorption is achieved by adjusting thickness and density
in key areas. Inner liner features air channels for efficient cooling.
Full circumference Impact-absorbing EPS liner is fitted throughout
the entire chin bar for premium face protection
5 SHELL SIZES
While some of our competitors rely on foam padding for fitting a wide range
of customers, SHOEI offers an industry-leading five shell sizes in the new
XR-1100 to ensure a custom fit for heads between the sizes of XS-XXXL.
VARIABLE VENTILATION SYSTEM
The XR-1100’s new shell features three (3) intake and six (6) exhaust vents in total. Wind tunnel
testing revealed that the optimal location for exhaust vents is high on the rear portion of the
helmet’s shell. Better ventilation and aerodynamic performance is achieved by separating the
spoiler and exhaust vents. The exhaust vent holes have been relocated to take better advantage
of negative pressure suction, dramatically improving exhaust ventilation. SHOEI’s variable
ventilation system allows riders to select the perfect balance between airflow and silence.
CW-1 VISOR
The all-new CW-1 shield offers greater vertical and peripheral vision than the
CX-IV that it replaces. In addition, the CW-1 shield protects SHOEI riders

The XR-1100 helmet passes the prestigious
SNELL M2010 standard that came into
effect on October 1st 2009. The XR-1100
is the first Snell M2010 Certified helmet to
be available in Australia!
The testing procedure for the SNELL
M2010 standard now calls for graduated
headforms of different weights. With
previous standards (M2005, M2000
etc), every headform weighed the same
regardless of helmet size. That allowed
some manufacturers to get away with fewer
shell sizes while producing helmets with
more rigid shells. Please note the Snell label
on the back of the helmet says only “Snell
Approved.” Customers must look inside the
helmet, behind the liner, to see that it meets
the newer standard.

The focus at Shoei in recent years has been to create a range of premium race & sports helmets.
In 2008 we introduced the VFX-W off-road helmet, which has redefined off-road racing helmets, and is the most coveted and
sought after off-road helmet available today.
In 2009 we introduced the class leading XR-1100 helmet, which is now the benchmark for sports touring helmets.
Our X-Twelve is the absolute pinnacle of dedicated road-race helmet design, and offers unrivalled race safety and performance.
For 2010 our goal was to create the finest Road-Touring helmet the world has ever seen!
The requirements for our development team were to create the ultimate balance of light weight, reduced noise & improved
long distance comfort. We demanded a helmet that could be used by street riders of all types of motorcycles –cruisers,
tourers, commuters etc – and onr that would provide the finest level of comfort, quality and safety.
The final result is the incredible new……Shoei TZ-X!
ULTIMATE COMFORT
PASSIVE SAFETY
The design criteria for the new TZ-X was superior comfort over
long distances. To achieve this, we wiped the slate clean and
designed the TZ-X with a completely new shell shape and EPS
liner design.
Wind noise is one of the major contributors to rider fatigue, so
the TZ-X has been designed in Shoei’s own, brand new high-speed
300kph wind tunnel facility, to achieve incredibly low levels of
wind noise – a massive 60% less wind-noise than the TZ-R it
replaces!!
The interior is a new and updated 3D
(3 Dimensionally contoured) liner, with an updated 3D crown liner
and removable, multi-layered cheek pads. These cheek pads are
the same as applied to the XR1100, and are available in a range of
thicknesses to achieve a perfect custom fit.
Shoei cheek pads are made using a progressive combination of
polyurethane foam layers in different densities to achieve a soft
but firm hold.
Slits for glasses have been built into the cheek-pads, making
wearing glasses inside the TZ-X far more comfortable and easy.
5 SHELL SIZES
The latest in AIM+ Technology has been
applied to the TZ-X.
The AIM+ shell consists of 6 layers of
reinforced organic fibres and fibreglass. The
new AIM+ shell offers increased impact
absorption and penetration resistance
properties, with a reduction in weight!
Shoei’s Dual-Liner Technology is a
combination of various grades of Expanded
Polystyrene EPS to provide unsurpassed
impact protection.
A softer inner liner is couple to a firmer
outer liner to provide progressive impact
absorption and increased damping effect,
resulting in improved safety.
Each shell size now features its own individual
size and density EPS liner, to ensure the
optimal safety level is provided for each
helmet size – resulting is a helmet with a
safety level perfectly tailored to the wearer!
CW-1 VISOR SYSTEM

XXS-XXL.
The new CW-1 visor and QRSA (Quick Release Self Adjusting
base plate system is the same visor as applied to the X-Twelve
and XR1100 race and sports models. This incredible new system
offers ‘One-touch’, superfast and easy visor changes, and the
spring loaded variable axis inside the base plate guarantees a
firm seal when the visor is closed, vastly reducing windnoise.
100% perfect optical clarify and increased vertical and
peripheral vision results in increased safety.
The CW-1 visor is made from hard coated polycarbonate and
offers 99% UV protection
A new Pinlock film has been designed specifically to fit the Shoei
CW- visor, and offers an increased of 30% more vision, with
the film providing anti-fog right to the edges of the visor, greatly
improving vision in wet weather and cold conditions.
CW-1 VISOR SYSTEM
The TZ-X does not rely on blocking noise with the interior padding, (as
many inferior helmet brands do), as excessive padding will block informative
sounds that are essential for rider safety.
The flush surface and flowing lines of the TZ-X reduce air turbulence and
control wind noise perfectly, while the ear sections are left open so a rider
can still hear their surroundings.
The new TZ-X is also equipped with an open ear section for fast & easy
intercom integration.
VENTILATION
Hours of wind tunnel testing has resulted in the newly designed extra large upper air
intake on the TZ-X to be placed in exactly the right position and at the perfect angle to
achieve the most effective inlet airflow performance.
This enlarged intake works like the ram-air inlet on a motorcycle – pressurising the
channelled ventilation system inside the helmet to optimise cool airflow throughout the
liner.
The lower air intake is also newly designed, and provides an increased flow of air to the
defroster inside the screen. It is also much larger than the previous design, making it
much easier to open and close with winter gloves on.
The air entering around the chin area is channelled inside the helmet through the
defroster, which minimises fogging of the visor. The defroster outlet is angled so that the
air flowing into the helmet does not hit the wearers eyes directly.
The new Dual -Crown exhaust outlets make use of the negative pressure zone behind
the helmet to effectively draw away hot air, while controlling the stream of air to offer
balanced ventilation without turbulence.

DUAL-LINER SYSTEM
AERODYNAMICS
Shoei’s unique Dual Liner system has
also been adopted and improved for the
TZ-X. The air routed between the two
layers of impact absorbing liners gently
diffuses the cool air flowing into the
helmet, and around the wearers head,
without causing cold spots.
Pressurised cool air is fed into the
ventilation system, and is drawn out of
the exhausts effectively by low pressure.
This revised design ensures the TZ-X
offers optimal airflow with no increase
in wind noise.
The accented shell design is a perfect example
of art defined by function.
All of Shoei’s 50 year helmet design
experiences has been coupled with the latest
in computer generated design to create the
TZ-X
This design has been honed to perfection
in Shoei;s own new high speed wind tunnel,
coupled with countless real world tests.
The spoiler at the rear of the helmet restrains
drag and lift by controlling the airflow over
the helmet and significantly eases the load on
the wearer’s neck.

Since the introduction of ”DUOTEC”, our first flip-up helmet, in 1993, we have been pursuing improvement of convenience
required for flip-up helmet. New model, “NEOTEC”, is born at end of 2011.
SHOEI’s innovative technologies are adopted to NEOTEC corresponding to various practical requirements expected to flip-up
helmet. Its combination with radical shape created by SHOEI’s high level of design leading the industry in helmets of all categories
realizes a joy to own in addition to improvement of performances. Wearing NEOTEC changes daily riding from a simple
transportation to luxurious time. We developed NEOTEC to realize such a concept.
ULTIMATE MODULAR DESIGN
AIM+SHELL CONSRTUCTION (Snell M2010-Approved)
The Neotec’s flip up design offers the convenience and versatility of a full-face
helmet that converts instantly into an open-face configuration. Utilizing an
enlarged lock release button to facilitate easy handling with gloves on, the
Neotec’s lightweight chin bar and face shield rotate with smooth precision on a
single axis point, yielding the seamless versatility of a true two-in-one design.
SHOEI’s unique AIM+ technology combines fibreglass with organic
fibres that are so strong they can only be cut with a laser. The end
result is a stronger, lighter shell that will absorb and distribute
massive impact forces safely and efficiently.
NEW - ONE TOUCH SUN SHEILD
The Neotec’s built-in QSV-1 sun shield gives riders instant relief
from sun glare in one quick motion. A large, easily located switch
activates the 3D inner shield, and the distortion-free, anti-fog,
scratch-resistant view blocks 99% of the sun’s damaging UV rays
just like the CNS-1 external shield that lies ahead. Unique to the
Neotec, the forehead area of the outer shell is raised slightly to
accommodate the internal sun shield, allowing for the integrity of
the helmet’s inner EPS protection liner to remain intact.
ADVANCED MULTI-CHANNEL VENTILATION
Utilizing SHOEI’s wind tunnels to help reveal the optimal balance between airflow and silence, SHOEI engineers equipped the all-new Neotec with a large
lower vent shutter for ease of use with riding gloves, a strategically-placed, three position upper vent for optimal air intake, uniquely-positioned upper
exhaust outlet vents to take better advantage of negative pressure suction, and a dual- layer EPS liner with cooling air channels...
This new design yields dramatically-improved cool-air intake and hot-air expulsion
– a massive 267% improvement in ventilation compared to the Shoei Multitec!

NEW CNS-1 SHEILD
Wider and taller than the CX-1V that it replaces,
the CNS-1 protects from 99% of the sun’s damaging
UV rays, and SHOEI’s 3D injection-molding process

field of vision. Coupled with the Neotec-exclusive
QR-N base plate system, shield changes and base
plate function have never been smoother.
Pinlock® ANTI-FOG SYSTEM PREPARED
The all-new Neotec comes equipped
with a Pinlock® Fog-Resistant Visor,

protection in existence. A simple,
one-step installation process makes
every Pinlock® lens easy to install,
and uses the same CW-1 Pinlock film
as the rest of the Shoei range.
360° PIVOT LOCKING SYSTEM
SHOEI’s proven “360° Pivot Locking System”
is road tested and made of high quality
stainless steel components to ensure a safe
and secure closure when the Neotec’s chin
bar is in the down, locked position.
The Neotec is equipped with a fully
removable, washable, and replaceable
interior system. The 3D center pad
components are three- dimensionally
shaped to match the contours of a
rider’s head, allowing for an extremely
comfortable fit while maintaining the
firm hold necessary for distraction-free,
high-speed riding. The Neotec’s multilayer cheek pads are available in different
thicknesses for a customizable fit.
NOISE REDUCTION DESIGN
Thanks to time well spent in SHOEI’s
wind tunnels, Neotec owners will enjoy
a reduction in wind noise, without
blocking the roads “informative sounds”
as many cheaper helmets do. In addition
to optimal shell aerodynamics and
liner components designed to prevent
unwanted road noise from entering
the bottom of the helmet, a dual-ridge
window bead and the chin bar’s “Vortex
Generator” lip work together to reduce
noise and manage airflow around the
helmet.
INTERCOM COMPATIBLE
The NEOTEC is designed to be fully intercom
prepared and compatible with all the top
selling intercoms on the market. Removable
ear sections make fitting intercoms a breeze
– just pull out the removable earpiece and fit
your intercom in the purpose built recess
provided.

Since it’s introduction in 1985, the RJ series set the standard by which all open face helmets are measured.
Shoei’s latest offering in the RJ line, the RJ Platinum-R, continues to build upon the RJ family history,
combining incredible comfort with the very latest in safety and performance technology. These features
combined with a new, modern design create the new standard for open face helmets.

THE SHOEI HORNET-DS CAN BE CONFIGURED IN THREE DIFFERENT
WAYS TO COMPLIMENT ALL FORMS OF MOTORCYCLE RIDING:
HORNET DS
1. With both the peak and visor fixed to the helmet, the Hornet is the perfect tool for exploring trails and back roads with your friends. The visor will keep the noise down and protect your face and eyes from bugs and dust. The peak protects your eyes from the glare of the sun, and can also deflect the roost that your buddies throw back at you in the dirt.
2. If the trails get really tight or muddy, the rider can opt to remove the visor and ride with a pair of goggles.
3. If the rider has to do some high-speed highway commuting to get to their favorite trail, the peak can be removed to completely eliminate the buffeting that the peak can cause. The visor is then attached using the base plate covers
supplied with the helmet, giving a cool streetfighter look!
3D CURVED VISOR
VENTILATION
The Hornet-DS has one of the most advanced ventilation systems ever
found on a motorcycle helmet. With four intake and three exhaust
vents, the Hornet-DS is up to the task of keeping a rider cool and dry
in even the most extreme conditions.
The Hornet-DS comes equipped with a 2mm thick 3-dimensionally
curved visor that can be positioned in 4 different locations. The visor
can also be removed so the helmet can be used with goggles. The visors
for this helmet are available in clear and light smoke tints and block 99%
of UVA and UVB rays
FULLY REMOVABLE 3D INTERIOR LINER
The Hornet-DS is fitted with Shoei’s 3D interior system. Shoei’s 3D
interiors use several different densities of foam in shapes corresponding
to the shape of the rider’s head to ensure not only a comfortable feel, but
superior stability in high speed riding. Shoei utilizes our 3D Max Dry liner
material for the interior of the Hornet-DS. This blend of fibers is capable
of absorbing 35 times its weight in moisture. The Hornet-DS’ 3D interior
is completely removable, making cleaning easy. Shoei offers range of cheek
pad sizes to allow for a custom-fitting option. Our cheek pads even feature
slits so you can comfortably wear eyeglasses inside your helmet.
VISOR
The peak on the Hornet-DS is actually part of the ventilation system
of the helmet. The visor is positioned slightly higher on the top of
the helmet than a typical off road helmet for optimal visibility. The
wedge shape visor was designed in Shoei’s in-house wind tunnel to
reduce uncomfortable wind resistance and buffeting. The reduction
of drag and lift help eliminate neck fatigue and keep the rider more
comfortable.
NOSE COVER VENT
VORTEX VENTS
The stylish nose cover on the Hornet-DS is
equipped an internal deflector mechanism
that forces fresh air upward to help prevent
fogging of the shield. The nose cover vent is
also equipped with a shutter to enable to user
to shut the vent if they choose to. The nose
cover vent is easy to remove and disassemble,
making cleaning easy.

to take advantage of low air
pressure zones at the rear of
the helmet that work to draw
hot air from the helmet.
CHIN CURATIN
The chin curtain prevents wind from entering the bottom of the

underside of the helmet and thereby markedly reduces noise. The kit consists
of the Whisper Strip and Chin Curtain. It is available for theTZ-R, XR1000, XR1100
AND TZ-X models and is extremely simple to install. *Please note - For safety
this product must be used with anti-fog film or visor fogging will result.
